So i spent the last 3 days re-writing the FAR ninja notes 2-3 times over, and felt like i had grasped most of the material on there. I also had watched all of the becker videos and taken notes, and i just purchased the ninja MCQ. After a first go through of everything, I am averaging around a trending and average of 55% my first time thru everything (each section once). I hope I can get that up higher obviously, but do a lot of people see their trending score increase after going through all the problems once or is it more they go thru the problems, take notes and learn of their mistakes and increase it that way? I’m just worried my baseline is so low after re-writing all those notes

@Thebigguy when is your test? Besides now that you've read everything and watched the videos you can simply focus on your MCQs and Sims. I hear you'll need to do at least 10k MCQs to get a good score once you've viewed all the material in FAR. I wrote out most of my MCQS for both of the reviews at the end of Becker that just wasnt enough as far as MCQs. I'm gonna be taken it again bc the 1st time I didn't review enough MCQS. Although I was good on Sims. I didn't go all the way thru the material the 1st time either. I just purchased the notes and have too been rewriting.

Also, @thebigguy1992, yes that is normal. I recommend doing as many MCQ as you can until the exam. I guarantee you will find your average increase substantially.

Thanks @Biff-1955-Tannen for that tid-bit. And for the good advise over hitting those MCQS I'll need it when I start going into my MCQS again in a few weeks.

Hey Biff-1955-Tannen, a question for you. I noticed that 99% MCQ only, is that without any textbooks at all?

my test is on june 9th. i plan to put in around 7 hours a day or 150 or so MCQ.

i noticed that for governmental, at first i chose to do 10 questions and got a 30%, and then i just did 30 questions and got a 50%. My trending is still around 33% for that section. does it not weigh the most recent tests heavier even if i scored higher and did more problems/correct problems for it??

@Jason L I do have text books, but I honestly looked in them once or twice. If there was something that I needed more clarity on from a MCQ, I looked in the book for that specific thing. I did however come to the forum numerous times and ask for help on here. I find that asking questions on here you will get a more layman's term response, so it's easier to understand.

10,000 MCQ questions seems a bit excessive. do not hold yourself to such a high standard. i dont know where “you heard” that but if you are studying for FAR now, dont stress if you dont even get close to that number. i have always focused on quality over quantity of the MCQ's when studying for the CPA exam.

i.e. doing a 1,000 MCQ's properly, focusing on the answers and writing out WHY they are right/wrong in your own words. reading the answer explanation for your RIGHT answers not just the wrong ones. i think doing this for 1,000 MCQ's trumps doing 10,000 MCQ's for the sake of doing them. considering NINJA only has 1700 FAR questions- you are going to go thru them 6 times? this advice is just preposterous and down right dangerous for candidates. please people, QUALITY > quantity is the equation for success.
