I do not have much knowledge on tax. Its almost the first time I am going to tackle with full length tax course. I do have basic fundamentals in place. I know prior knowledge would be beneficial.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    BEC- 43(Feb'16), Retake-June 10, (Wiley text book/WQB/NINJA MCQ)
    REG- TBD
    FAR- TBD

You should be fine as long as you have a good review course. The tax material in Reg is very high-level, doesn't delve too much into specifics. Don't waste time memorizing specific thresholds and phase-outs / etc. I took two tax classes in college, but slept through them for the most part. I didn't struggle too much when it came to the exam.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED

    I DID IT!!!!

    Using Becker Self-Study

I am having 2014 Wiley books, WTB.

Will that suffice or should I go for others supplements for REG?

    BEC- 43(Feb'16), Retake-June 10, (Wiley text book/WQB/NINJA MCQ)

You probably need something more up-to-date.

I took NINJA MCQ for BEC.

I had no prior tax knowledge other than college classes I took 12 years ago. REG was tough don't get me wrong, but I found it fun to study and because of that I think I did so well.

Take it as an opportunity to apply all of the concepts to your life, makes remembering it easier to me.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
    Reg / Nov 2015 - 87
    Far / Apr 2016 - 79
    Bec / May 2016 - 80
    Aud / Aug 2016

@user2701Ninja Notes are a condensed version of the important topics and the book is more comprehensive. I've used the notes for FAR, AUD, and currently BEC and recommend them.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

I am having WQB & study guide

so what else should I go for ?

Notes or text books ? NINJA notes would be based on NINJA text books right ?

Is it ok to go just for Notes without NINJA books ?

As others said, a decent review course will cover what's needed. I don't think Ninja notes alone are sufficient but that may depend on your prior education and experience. I do think the two I got were good supplements. How good? I'll find out Tuesday.

I only took 2 tax courses and despised them both. Got a C+ and B so I was worried I'd need multiple attempts to pass.

I studied about 15 hours weekly and was very unsure about how I did on the SIMs. REG gave me the worst post exam feeling out of all the parts. There are some phaseouts you should be familiar with. A 2014 book is outdated. If I'm not mistaken, didn't the filing dates for various entities change this quarter?

You can definitely pass without prior tax knowledge. I used CPAexcel and passed on my first attempt…without any tax background. I also suggest using Ninja MCQs. Although I didn't use them for REG, I used them for BEC and FAR and found them very helpful. As long as you're using something up-to-date and put in the time, you will be able to pass. Best of luck!
