Is it worth it!?

    Hello all,

I am in sort of a weird situation. I took FAR in Q2 and do not feel that good about it. The sims were ridiculous difficult and I feel that there is a 50-50% chance that I passed. I took extremely good notes and still have a good idea of what to expect if I have to take it again. I currently am finishing up my masters in accounting but am not working currently. I am moving to a new city in mid September to start a full time job and am considering trying to retake FAR the first week before moving ( September 8-10th). If I start studying on July 30th, would it be worth trying to retake the exam the first week of september or just waiting to take it in Q3? All of this is based on the fact thatI didnt pass but I dont want to have to wait until christmas to hear again…I’d love to hear your input!

I would study right now and take it September. Gives yourself an out if you fail again since you could retake q4

    BEC: 77
    AUD: 67, 85, 87
    FAR: 74, 74, 79
    REG: ___

I would also say to go for it. You will drive yourself crazy waiting for the December score release if you decide to skip it.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

I totally agree with you both..should I just redo all the MCQ+sims in becker and skip the lectures? (As well as utilize NINJA MCQ?)..Also what are the chances there is going to be an open spot the first week of september…

If I were you, I would try to schedule for the last open week in September as soon as you can. I understand you have to wait until you find out whether or not you failed, but I would have the retake application filled out and ready to send the day of score release. I don't know what state you're in, but mine moves fast with getting my payment coupon to me. I sent out my application for BEC this past Tuesday, receive mt Payment Coupon via email on Thursday, paid it that evening, and received my NTS Saturday morning. The availability for a spot will also depend on where you're located and how full your testing center gets. I could schedule my exam 1 week out and still be fine. Heck, August 1st still has plenty of open spots at my location. So it's all about knowing how fast your test center fills up and being proactive in scheduling a retake. I would start studying pronto! Good luck 🙂

@SallyCPA, Sounds like a plan. You mentioned you took good notes last time, so definitely flip through those first for a refresher then start going through the MCQs and sims, and maybe add more notes as you go. Keep things light until score release, then turn if up a notch if things aren't in your favor, or (drop everything completely if it is 😉)
