Is it possible to finish BEC and REG before April?

I am trying to be realistic on the timing. I work full time, have a family and a toddler. I only have 2-3 hours a day during the week and I can do 6-8 hours during the weekend.
I see that REG is almost the same size as FAR, is it realistic to finish both parts in that time frame?
Anyone with similar situation can tell me in average how long did it take for each of those 2 parts?

My current plan is to take BEC by mid/end of Feb and was going to take the risk of taking REG under the new exam. I am a bit hesitant of squeezing both of them in before April and lose them both

Depends how comfortable you are with the material. Are you studying for BEC now? Why not take it in January so you have more time for REG? End of Feb seems like a long time to study for BEC. I may not be the best one to give advice for it since it took me three times to pass, but I knew going in that it would be the hardest one for me because I hated the material it covers.

I have no tax experience other than taking an individual tax class and studied for 7 weeks and about 200 hours for REG. Ended up with a 68 because I completely FUBAR'd the sims. Was shocked I even scored that high, but I was stronger on mcq's according to my score report.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

Yes. Been considering taking BEC by end of Jan. I took the Christmas week off, if I can make a good progress over that week and see how comfortable I am with the material, I guess will be able to tell. I don't have tax experience at all which makes me worried that I might need more time for it. Will see how it goes next week

Yes, it is very doable. And judging by your scores, I really think you could get it. I did BEC in about 5 weeks and REG in about two months. Everyone is different, but those were the two easiest sections for me (even though my scores say differently!)

    @Pharaoh

    Congrats on passing AUD!

I'm studying for BEC right now. Exam is 1/13. REG is scheduled for 3/7.

I work full time (about 50 hours per week) and have three kids. I am absolutely exhausted when I get home from work and try to put in 2 hours of study after cooking dinner, reviewing kids' homework, and getting them to bed. On weekends I try to study 5-6 hours… but it's very inconsistent due to family responsibilities.

I've passed FAR and AUD with this schedule. Your scores and mine are very similar. Do it. Get it done. Be a CPA.

Congrats on your AUD Score. I'd say you can definitely pull it off, specially judging by your scores like others have pointed out. Shoot for a January BEC test date. I did BEC in about 4-5 week, and will now be starting REG. I am in a similar situation to yours (working full-time, family, toddler etc). I study whenever I can…I saw someone use the acronym “ELL”; Early, Lunch and Late…that describes my study times.

Knock out the BEC lectures and hit the MCQs. You can definitely do it!

I plan on taking BEC Jan 16th and Reg March 10th. Will see how this goes…

Thank you all, specially @CPYay and @CPAMD86.

I guess I will give it a try then and hopefully it will work. I hope they announce the score release for Q1 soon. I pick the exam date as close as possible to a score release because I hate the wait and can't concentrate on the new part while waiting.
