Is it Me or the CPA Review Course?

Found out I failed AUD again for a 3rd time. Unfortunately my score decreased. My scores for AUD have been 60, 64, and 60. This is a bit of a heart breaker, since I went through the entire material for this 3rd attempt. I use Wiley as my main course, and supplemented with Ninja. For what it is worth, I have been able to pass REG and FAR using both of these review courses. I know I am lacking in areas for AUD, but my method of study has not changed between these three exams. My question is, at what point do I start to question whether it is me, or the CPA review course? I appreciate any and all insight.

    Hey Jeff,

I believe I was trending in the 80s on the Ninja MCQs.

Did you read the NINJA Book & Notes?

I didn't read the Ninja book, but I did read through the notes and listened to the audio.

My first time through the material, I read the Wiley book. For my second time through the material I tried watching the lectures. I hate to put the blame any a review course, when I know I have to work harder, study harder.

Your stats in NINJA MCQ looked fine, although two sections had 100+ questions left unseen. Your scoring looked fine, however.

I personally passed AUD in two weeks with the Bisk videos (huge procrastinator). Most of those videos are still relevant.

AUD is the trickiest of the exams because of how subjective the questions can be.
There can be more than one correct answer for each question, but one is MORE correct than the others.
Test taking skills are crucial on this exam, specifically relating to eliminating 2 of the proposed answers, and then making your selection from the remaining 2 possibilities.
On your score review report, how were you doing on MCQs vs SIMs?

Switch to BEC and forget about AUD for a while. It's usually easy to revisit than trying over and over again.

    AUD 7/3
    BCE 81
    REG 7/15
    FAR 8/18

@Jeff – Yeah, I do remember not completing all Ninja MCQs, but I had also reset my progress. Almost went through the Ninja MCQs twice. Are the Bisk Videos included in the Ninja CPA review course?

@Recked – I completely agree, and I know there was a couple of questions that I felt could have gone either way. I would have to say I feel that I do lack in the test taking skills. I haven't received the score report for the most recent take, but on my 2nd take it was comparable in Ethics, and weaker in all other areas. I expect the same for this too.

    @Ezakipocky
    – Thanks for the advice! I actually started study BEC after I finished taking AUD. The plan is to take BEC in Jan. and gear up for AUD once again.

Yep – they are the ninja plus videos…hidden away, but they're there.
