    Hi guys,

Someone had approached me with a tax question and was wondering if anyone could help.

They opened and ultimately dissolved a C Corp in 2015 and never got an EIN. Can they file a zero return for 2015 without an EIN?

    Thanks in advance

Interesting question – I think the answer is no. Check out the 1120 instructions, page 7. An EIN is required. I hope this helps!

EIN takes less than 10 minutes to get online at irs.gov.

If they had the business already, they did not use their ssn, so they should have an ein, so have them contact the irs to get it. Not only will they dissolve the business, but deactivate the ein as well.

    It begins with a 75
