    3rd time around with this damn test. I am falling asleep while working on MCQ, and I feel like I am loosing what I have learned.

    I am trying to focus on the important areas, COSO, IT, Finance, Econ.

    Does anyone have any motivation for me? How do you stay awake and interested? I am starting to think this is the wrong field for me but I am come this far I cannot change it.

    What is your daily study routine that has worked for you?

    Thanks for the help!

    If you are using Becker, I would read the book cover to cover and do all of the problems in it. Memorize the majority of the forumulas (very important).

    I was trending in the 50s with ninja mcqs (frankly had no idea what i was doing until I sat down and read the entire book). Funny because I did that three days prior to my exam and everything just clicked.

    Leave enough time for the writing portion and practice some intros/outros.

    Thank you, I am using becker. I am also using Ninja. I am such a terrible slow reader. But I am going to give that a try!

    Congrats on your success!

    You want motivation? The longer the time melts away, the more at risk you are for losing an exam credit.
    Get it done with so you can be on the other side of this test!!

    Thank you 6silvermoonbeams.

    I always think about you and your situation when you responded to another one of my BEC calls for help.

    I am sure trying. Staying awake and focused is tough, especially when I am getting things wrong. But you are 100% correct. I need to do a better job at sucking it UP!

    hannahFletcher16 usually when Im having trouble with energy levels I change my diet in that I start to eat mainly fruits, veggies, and limit carbs. This is not an easy feat as I am a big guy, former college football lineman that never lost the weight. After diet I then restrict my caffeine intake to no more than 3 8oz cups of coffee daily with none after 5pm so I can sleep. Then I walk and stretch daily to relieve stress.

    Motivation should be the 2017 test changes that are coming down the pipe for one, and for two the AICPA is trying to break you. So you’ve failed BEC 3 times. I’ve failed FAR 5 times and AUD 2 times before they finally allowed me to pass AUD. I’ve been testing since Oct 2013.

    My advice is simple, begin to analyze the process of how you prepare, identifying strengths and weakness. Then make a plan to address the weaknesses. If that’s making an audio recording of your voice reading the notes on the areas you struggle with to listen to on your commute or making a presentation of the material you struggle to present to family and friends. Usually it helps when I try to explain things to my wife who is not an accountant. I believe having to explain the topics in basic transactional layman’s terms aids my understanding because I am not so caught up in the accounting jargon.

    @WannaB-

    Wow, Thank you. I think all of that advice was helpful! It is also nice to hear that it is possible to succeed even when I feel like I am a failure!

    I am going to copy your advice and refer to it whenever I feel down. And that is a great Idea, my boss asked me if she could help with anything, maybe just explaining things to her would be helpful for me.

    Good luck on your adventure! I hope to pass this damn BEC in JULY!

    Thanks again for the response, I really needed the motivation from a fellow candidate who knows how I feel!

    I just took this exam myself and my god, it was a damn monster+a half. If the pain of others gives you motivation, you're in luck.

    I'm terrified to see my 50 something next week man. I would highly recommend you MEMORIZE 80% of the formulas, just in-case you get an exam like mine with a ton of calculations. In order to memorize them, I would focus on looking for patterns in them. For example, the xyz turnover ratios will have (some-related-item)/(avg. xyz item) as the formula usually.

    But yea, once again, this section was a BITCH, with a GIANT B.

    B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
    A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
    F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

    Make your own notes, I find this method is the most effective method

    Far 10/26/2015, 64, 1/4/2016, 82
    Reg 7/10/2015, 60, 2/27/2016, 86
    Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again
    Bec, 6/10/2016, 70,9/8 retake
