What is the difference between these two positions. I was told today that I will be an in-charge for the next year. I get that you’re in charge of engagements but what am I doing that the senior doesn’t do?

What's the difference? Probably a few grand. 🙂

Sort of like a company telling you “we only promote once a year, but we want you to assume manager responsibilities now.”

On the review form we fill out at work, the ‘In-Charge Accountant' is the accountant that actually does the bookkeeping and work, the senior accountant is the one who reviews the work and signs off as technical accountant. So I think it would really depend on the position.

    F - F ('12), 90 (Dec '15)
    A - F ('12), 73 (Feb '16), ? (July '16)
    R - 87 (May '16)
    B -
