If one more person tells me…

“You’re smart” [so are lots of other people struggling with this], “You’ll do fine, you’ve studied hard” [seriously, as if people who fail don’t also study hard?], “You’ve passed the hardest one already” [FAR – which may have been my easiest since it’s most related to my job], or to “Just do your best” [oh, well before you said that I was really just winging it but now that you mention it…] – I’m going to kick them in the teeth.

I know these people, including my incredible supportive boyfriend, and eternally optimistic managers, mean well, but this is not helping at all, especially given that I am still licking my wounds from a 72 on REG while going into BEC tomorrow morning. I just got over a slight meltdown that involved literal tears while looking at the Becker summary of formulas pages. I think now I’m going to go listen to audio on my weakest topic while taking a warm bath and hoping for a miracle. I’m so glad this space exists to have my little tantrums/vents with people who understand, I think it’s the only way I’ll manage to have any relationships left by the end of this thing.

totally agree. Thank God there is this space to realize you are not alone and vent/whine when you need to! I failed FAR with a 72 in July and it's my last exam. I feel your pain. Hang in there! We will finish this damn thing!

i was freaked out too when i looked at a formulas summary.

But really, you just need to know how to take the test. These formulas are being tested in multiple choice questions.

You can play around with the numbers until you get an answer listed. Half the time you can come to the formula if you think about it.

It's totally doable, just be confident in yourself. Spending time to memorize every single one makes no sense at all. Just knowing how to apply them and work a problem is way more important.

It's just things people say when they don't know what else to say. Like saying “I'm sorry” at a funeral. Probably the last thing a family member wants to hear 300 times while they're grieving but what else is there to say, really?
