If I do all…

I know the key is to understand and not memorize… but say I do ALL Becker Sims, All optional and mandatory MC questions, and I have a good grasp of why right answers are right and wrong answers are wrong, will I be in good shape to get a passing score on FAR? Let’s say realistically I only understand 70% of all material, how about then? I know it all varies based on tester, but I am just wondering.

I should be testing mid July early August and am on F2 now only problem is I’m averaging 35% on MC questions. But again I will review once everything is finished.

Also should I keep grinding through material to finish reading everything to stick to study plan and then go back and review or stay on a topic?

I'm not overly impressed with Becker for FAR. Way too much material IMO. Unless you are able to do it all within 8 weeks, that means locking yourself in a room for two months, then keep going with Becker. Im planning on going with another provider for BEC.

The problem is with Becker is that it is really hard to go over all the material and not forget what you learned initially. Becker may work for someone who doesn't work, lives with someone who will cook and clean for them, and is not in a relationship. Just my 2 cents. For your situation, I would really try to be at over 50%-60% before moving on from a chapter.

I'm using Becker and I've passed all Except FAR.

Becker has been working for me. We'll see come Saturday if I still think that way. 🙂

my process has been to watch the lecture, do all the homework and the sims for that chapter. You can choose to do all unanswered questions and I keep hammering at them until I've answered all of the MCQ correctly at least once. Then I move on to the next chapter.

If I do poorly this time, I'm going to get Ninja MCQ's to supplement.

when you say you are only scoring 30-40% are you doing a “progress test” or just doing one of the homework sections?

You guys are right with the difficulty of FAR you really do need a supplement (i.e. with Ninja notes and Ninja MCQs) to get all of the gray areas that you may have missed using Becker. They tend to touch on alot of details and you should test those areas using other review materials to reassure yourself.

@Martin – I only reviewed for about 2 weeks before the retake.I reworked all the sims. I did maybe 5 30 question Progress tests. I think the real difference was my retake covered things covered by Becker in REG. My first test had a bunch of stuff on bond amortization and EPS. If I'm not mistaken, that is FAR material, not REG.
