If drilling down by topic, how does the adaptive learning work?

I am studying for my last part now AUD. Ive used Becker mostly with some FAR and reg Ninja questions here and there. I am just confused of how to use the software properly. The adaptive learning kicks in after 35% of the MCQ have been completed. If I begin by doing questions for chapter 1 and half way through chapter 2 the adaptive learning kicks in, how is it supposed to adapt when you havent attempted three chapters yet?

I usually just make a custom 100 questions for all chapters, only questions I have not seen yet. When I did that for FAR, i attempted 500 questions and 20 of them were from GOV and NFP. How does the software know If i am really weak in areas I havent really attempted? Also, GOV and NFP are important so I don’t know why it only threw such a small amount at me.

Does the adaptive learning only kick in when you click the MCQ option, or if you do a custom set it will try and throw weak topics of those filtered options at you? I am trying to use this as a review in my final 3 weeks after i finish the becker chapters next week. I want to get every chapte thrown at me and hit the areas I am weak in. If this makes any sense

I don't think adaptive learning is in effect when you're selecting topics in Ninja.

    I could be wrong tho.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

Even if you are in the review phase, the software is still “adapting” to your progress and will feed you questions based on exam weighting and whether you missed a question the last time you saw it.

You cannot get to the review phase until you've answered *every* question correctly at least once.

My suggestion is to keep doing sets of 100 and let the software feed you the questions. If you limit the software to only picking new questions, you are limiting the “pool” of questions, if that makes sense. And three weeks out is the perfect amount of time to pound the MCQs.

    I hope that helps!

I suggest do 30 at a pop. Selecting 100 Q's and seeing you still have 70 left can be depressing.

I agree with EuroAddict. I do sets of 30. Any more is too much. Besides, doing 30 at a time really helped prepare me for the FAR testlets.

So is the suggestion to do small sets of questions just by clicking the MCQ option on the dashboard? Wouldn't selecting that option flood you with questions you have seen already and/or gotten right? I feel like that would waste a lot of time. I'm just confused as to how the adaptive learning kicks in when you click custom, or if you have drilled down by topic. For example, if I hit adaptive learning by doing the questions for chapter 1 and 2, I haven't seen a question other than those chapters so how would the adaptive learning know what I am weak in. Also, if I select “only new questions” on a custom set, will the adaptive learning still adapt to that custom set?

I am interested in this also since i am starting my 2 weeks worth of hammering out MCQ i normally select new questions until i have seen them all then i go over missed ones but it seems like i am doing it wrong.

    FAR - Passed 4/2016
    AUD - Passed 11/2015
    REG - ?
    BEC - 05/28/2016
