I knew that 2nd testlet would kill me

So when I took AUD, I strongly felt like I killed the 1st testlet because the 2nd was super hard. I had 2nd testlet MCQ’s that RogerCPA couldn’t and didn’t prepare me for… I felt that the second testlet beat me up hard. Then I felt like I did very well on the SIMS. I scored a 72 and my report says comparable in SIMs and Weaker on the MCQ…
    .
Anyone feel like RogerCPA is just too weak? People pass with Roger, sure but are they getting high scores? I can supplement with Ninja I guess but now I’m cutting into time. Where do people find the time to use two sets of review materials? So that rolls into my next question… I had 100 hrs studied for AUD, is that enough? People say don’t look at hours but I still think it’s a very good basis if you’re a diligent studier. I have to roll into REG because NTS is expiring. I’m counting on 130 hours, is that enough? Wish I would have finished this before full-time employment…

Most people that talk about using Course X and Ninja are just using Ninja for the test bank and maybe the notes. Only reason I used Ninja was for the test bank, and mainly because the analysis tools were much better than Roger or Becker (used Roger for 1, Becker for the other 3). If you build up 200 or so questions in Ninja, you can use the progress report and really narrow down to the exact topics you struggle with, then focus most of your study time on those areas. I also think it's very important to be doing random quizzes from the entire test bank. It's very easy to study one small area, then take a quiz made up of only questions from that area and do well on it, but forget it all the next day.

The “trending score” in Ninja is the best proxy for how well you're prepared going in, IMO. I was trending low 70's to 80 going into all of mine and passed. I would ditch the idea of how many hours you need going in and just let your scores on practice quizzes tell you whether or not you're prepared.

100 hours is more than the average person spends. You should spend your time doing nothing but MCQs. If you teeth through the entire test bank within Roger or Ninja a couple times, I doubt you'll encounter many questions that you feel like you haven't seen before. Hammering out those MCQs will definitely be make a difference.

Thanks guys. Good advice Jimmy. I think you're right, I was too narrowed in on taking exams right after studying the sections. I should have quizzed myself on more practice exams at the end so that I could scope in on weak areas. I tend to fall off a little on the MCQ's when I get close to exam day. Grit my teeth and hunker down I shall! Thanks PNS, I will definitely up my MCQ's! Maybe drown myself in coffee while doing them, haha. I know this stuff, but it amazes me how I trick myself into believing something different…
