Well last night I got some awful news on my Audit retake, 72. The first attempt was a 74, I was absolutely shocked I was as close to passing the first time as I was. But I just got my performance report for the retake (the 72), I had Procedures and Evidence and Sims as weaker, and everything else was stronger!!!

For the 74, I only had stronger in Understanding the Engagement, comparable in everything else except Evaluation and Reporting and Sims were weaker.

So I can conclude that it is absolutely the sims keeping me from passing this test, especially the retake. What is a strategy? I haven’t done anything on FAR yet. Should I go and start studying that?

Because this is extremely defeating, it is so much work and money that goes into this and I am not in public, and I never ever want to go to public. It is making me want to just quit and focus on my MBA (which I am doing regardless). Especially with the April changes coming. If I can’t do the Sims now, I don’t have a shot then.

I would focus more on the sims next time. I hate doing sims but it helps. When you do your retake, study from scratch again. Like I tell everyone else to read and do the questions at the end of the topic then go on to the next topic then a few days later go back to the previous topic and do all the questions again.

I would not go to FAR I would just get AUD done since you are familiar with the material.

For AUD, I remember the AL was very helpful. I would practice using that and getting used to it for SIMS. What helped me study, was that I would print a SIM and try to work it on my own before looking at the answers. Then I would make intense notes as to why I got something wrong, and why the right answer is right.

Like @waffle_house said, start from scratch with your review. Keep plugging away at MCQ and that will help you understand concepts better too, which ultimately helps in the SIMS portion.

    AUD - 74,72,74,73,67,80
    BEC - 69,80
    FAR - 50,51,50,74,71,79
    REG - 69, 72, 81.. and I am DONE...

Also, I wouldn't get caught up in those reports they send you. They even say on the front to not rely on them. Each test is completely different and you really have to treat it as such.

    AUD - 74,72,74,73,67,80
    BEC - 69,80
    FAR - 50,51,50,74,71,79
    REG - 69, 72, 81.. and I am DONE...

It's funny because when I got a 74 on AUD, I got weaker on the MC and stronger on the SIMS. I feel audit sims you can't always look up, unless it is a report. You should brush up on adjusting journal entries, because alot of AUD sims are similar to far. You are so close though, don't give up!

    AUD 5/27/16 74 &#%!! 7/13/2016 86!
    BEC 8/17/2016
    FAR 11/04/2015 73, 1/4/2016 75 (phew!)
    REG 2/26/2016 74. 4/2/2016 79
