Hello folks,

I tried to start this thread last night but due to some glitch, that thread never got published. Hence re-posting.

I am deciding on the state to apply from. I have BBA Concentration in accounting from US and 146 credits and with them I am eligible to sit from New York, New Hamshire and Maine, (there are a couple others but I am not considering them).
New York needs 33 accounting credits and 36 Business Credits requirement for licensing. NY doesn’t specify if these all need to be Upper Level credits
New Hamshire needs 30 accounting and 24 business for licensing. NH also doesn’t specify if these all need to be Upper Level credits.
Maine needs 150 credits and I couldn’t find any specific credit requirement for accounting and business. So my best bet is Maine.

But I wanted to learn how to count my credits. Could someone shed some light on how do I count my accounting and business credits? From my US transcript, I could calculate 19 upper level and 6 lower level accounting credits. I have 24 upper level business credits and not sure how many lower level business credits.

1. How many accounting and business credits do I need for NY? Are 33 and 36 upper Level Credits in accounting and business respectively or total upper and lower credits combined? If latter, I only need 7 more accounting credits and 12 business credits ?

2. How many accounting and business credits do I need for NH? Are 30 and 24 upper Level Credits in accounting and business respectively or total upper and lower credits combined? If latter, I only need 5 more accounting credits?

3. Advisory Evaluation helps with transcript evaluation to determine eligibility to sit for the exam only.Where can I get my transcript evaluated for licensing only to find how many credits in each department I need?

Where do you intend to work and live? That seems the most logical state to apply for license in.
I can't help on the state specific credit requirements except NY treats only ACC courses as accounting, and BUS as business. Even if it's a BUS course with accounting in the name, it still counts as business unfortunately.
