Could someone shed some light on how do I count my accounting and business credits? I have a Bachelor in Business Administration concentration in accounting. From my transcript, I could calculate 19 upper level and 6 lower level accounting credits. I have 24 upper level business credits and not sure how many lower level business credits. How many accounting and business credits do I need for NY License? Is it 33 and 36 upper Level Credits in accounting and business respectively or total upper and lower credits combined?
With Bachelor and 120 credits, I am eligible to sit for NY exam. Where can get my transcript evaluated for licensing only to find how many credits in each department I need?
Similarly in New Hamshire, I need 30 accounting credits. Is it 30 upper Level Credits or total upper and lower credits combined?
I am confused and help will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to decide from which state I can get a license quickly as I need to be a licensed US CPA to apply for CPA license in CANADA and I don’t want to invest 3-4 years to get there. I have 4.5 years of experience in public accounting, it is just the upper lever and lower level credit requirement for license that is throwing me off in coming to a decision… please help.
