    Hi,

So I will most likely be taking FAR in August/September, and am wondering how much harder FAR will be with DRS and the other changes that will premiere in July? I know people will post about their exam experiences in July, but I am just wondering?

I bought Becker and will start studying from it this week.

Should I take it in June if its a possibility to avoid DRS?

I believe i had a DRS in my Failed FAR exam, i honestly thought it was more straight forward than a standard Sim.. step 1 – review additional material step 2 – use that data from invoices / POs / spreadsheets and fill in blanks

    AUD: 70, 80✔ (Expires 1/18/2017 - / Ninja MCQ / CPAExcel MCQ)
    REG: 61, 70, 75✔ (Expires 2017 - Ninja MCQ / CPAExcel MCQ)
    BEC: 78✔(Expires 5/17/2017 - Ninja MCQ / Becker Flashcards / NinjaNotes)
FAR: 57 (just to get trigger time I scheduled 1 week after REG) Retake 5/13/16

I took FAR May 2 and 4 of 7 of my SIMs had DRS, but I had to input my answer in the spreadsheet, it's not the completely new format which is still multiple choice. Anyways, I totally got screwed!! Definitely retaking FAR in Q3.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

I took FAR in April and had 2 DRS simulations. The night before I was talking to my friend and said “I pray I get a simulation on ____” because it's such a easy little section in FAR. My friend and I were laughing because we knew there was no way the CPA would give me a simulation on such an easy topic. When I got to my simulations, 1 of the 2 DRS questions was on that same topic! I chuckled in my seat. It was so easy and I knew I got it all right. My other DRS was okay. I don't think it's substantially harder or easier in my opinion. Just a new format.

    FAR: 78
    REG: 74, 75

When I took AUD in Jan, one of my simulations was something similar to a DRS I believe. Like a sample one they were testing because I have never seen something like it on the previous exams I took for AUD. It was more real world work instead of theory (which I thought was much easier). I found it much easier than a normal TBS based on that alone.

Ugh, what if we are all scrambling to take the exams before the change and it actually gets easier? What if the pass rate starts going up? I mean, I want us all to pass the exam, but then, that's it. I don't need a flood of CPAs in the market.

    AUD - 77
    REG - 73, 80
    FAR - 69, 73, 79 and DONE!
    BEC - 82

Doubt they would flood the market with CPAs and let the seen value drop. With that said i did hear many CPAs are dropping off due to retirement in a study done so the accounting world will need replacements of those working force.

I wonder if one of my sims on the FAR test I just took was a DRS.. It had lots of information to jump back and forth through to answer the question. None of my Becker sims were ever like this with multiple types of statements.

I also hope that wasn't my pre-test question because I feel like I did pretty well on it versus some of my other sims.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
    Reg / Nov 2015 - 87
    Far / Apr 2016 - 79
    Bec / May 2016 - 80
    Aud / Aug 2016
