How many of you feel you passed the exam and find out that you passed?

I walked out the testing center and feel like I passed. When I took Far the first time, I didn’t study much and knew that I failed. I got a 64. This time I really studied and feel so much more comfortable during the exam. The second testlet was hard and most of them are long, the third testlet wasn’t much easier. I finished the sim questions, I think I did ok with them.

I see a lot of you feel you failed the exam, and then you find out that you passed. Now I am thinking, am I going to fail if I feel I pass the exam?

    Far 10/26/2015, 64, 1/4/2016, 82
    Reg 7/10/2015, 60, 2/27/2016, 86
Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again
    Bec, 6/10/2016, 70,9/8 retake

My first section was FAR, and I was sure I failed it. Got the good news a month later and afterwards, I walked out of the rest of the 3 sections feeling comfortable that I passed.

This happened to me in college – almost all of the exams I thought I had failed, For both parts I have passed, my guess score walking out of the exam was within 2-5 points of my actual score. I took AUD last week, and I don't necessarily think I failed, but I don't really have a clue how I did. I feel like the chances of me making a 90 were about the same as a 55 or 60, lol. I don't think about it much after the exam though – what's done is done. IMO, I think some people psych themselves out about these exams by overthinking them. Yes, thinking about failing is not a good feeling but there is no point obsessing over what the score is after the exam is over. I think about my AUD exam in terms of “Ok, if I do have to retake it, what would I do differently? What would I spend more time on?” Unless I can learn something about how to better prepare for future exams, thinking about past performance is a waste of time.

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

I walked out of FAR feeling like I crushed it. With the other 3 sections, I walked out feeling like I passed – just not as exuberant as with FAR, more like “Well, now I've done that.”

I thought I passed REG and did. Of course, I didn't want to jinx it, so I kept my thoughts to myself 🙂

    Good Luck!

FAR – first time thought I failed, and I failed. second time thought I nailed it, I nailed it.
AUD – thought I aced it, and I aced it
BEC – thought I would squeak by, and squeaked by
REG – first time thought I passed, I failed. second time thought for sure I passed, i passed

moral of the story: trust your gut.

The thing is there is apparently alien science behind how CPA scores are calculated.
People feel they did worse on exam compared to review study may simply due to the fact that they got harder testlet, which means they actually did well on exam.

    FAR (4/14/14) - 97
    REG (11/17/14) - 94
    BEC (11/30/14) - 92
    AUD (2/28/15) - 99

Every exam except BEC I thought I had passed it. Of course I had my doubts until I got my score, but I keep thinking to myself, “If I didn't pass that exam I literally studied the wrong information.”

If you worked hard and you were prepared there is nothing wrong with being confident about receiving a passing score.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

FAR was the only section where I felt I had passed since I had done well in accounting courses.

    AUD/BEC: I don't know how I (barely) passed them.

I had a gut feeling I passed them all each time… and knew they were all on the “line” so to speak, and it was pretty accurate!

    FAR - 78
    AUD - 82
    REG - 79
    BEC - 78

I've taken AUD, FAR, BEC, and REG, in order.

With AUD, I walked out feeling pretty good! But I didn't want to jinx it. Made a 85.

With FAR, I walked out feeling terrible, because the SIMS crushed me. I felt good about the MCQ's, but the SIMS were a nightmare. I felt I probably scored in the upper 60's, lower 70's at best. Made a 73, and I recently got my full score report and scored stronger in MCQ's and weaker in SIMS. Exactly how I thought.

With BEC, I walked out feeling much better than I did with FAR but not as strong as I did with AUD. Some of the MCQ's threw me for a loop, but overall, I felt pretty decent. The written tasks were thankfully over pretty easy topics (one was a little challenging but made it work). I felt I had a pretty good shot of passing, but again, didn't want to jinx it. Made a 83.

With REG, I walked out feeling about the same as BEC, maybe not quite as good, but definitely better than FAR. The SIMS were challenging, but manageable. The MCQ's were decent. Scored an 81.

So far, my predictions have been accurate. The one I felt terrible about, I failed. Studying FAR now and plan on knocking it out of the ballpark when I retake it next month (would be nice to score in the 90's on an exam, but honestly, I'll be just as happy with a 75).

    AUD - 85 (8/30/2015)
    FAR - 73 (10/13/2015), 85 (2/29/2016) (AND DONE!)
    BEC - 83 (11/04/2015)
    REG - 81 (11/30/2015)
