I’m curious how long it takes people to feel like they have a good grasp on the material for BEC? I’m taking AUD in january and am trying to figure out if I can put BEC in Q1 as well.

Try to keep BEC to 4-6 weeks. It's got the least amount of information but don't underestimate it!

You can definitely fit BEC in Q1. I think I studied for 5 weeks for BEC. Granted, I had the week between Christmas and New Year's off to just study, but you have plenty of time after AUD to study. Unless you have busy season and it will consume your life, but I think you can still squeeze the exam in before March 10 even if you're working full time.

What does “studied” mean for you guys personally? How often/how long/MCQ/videos/etc…? Just so I can gauge what I might need to do based on my habits (or lack thereof)

I studied 1-2 hours each night and 6-8 hours on the weekends. I used Wiley, so I'd read the chapter, do the MCQ and move on to the next chapter. A week or so before the exam, I worked the whole test bank and focused reviewing my weak areas. As you can see, my score isn't the best, but the process worked for me. I think you have plenty of time to get BEC in during the first quarter.

Hey passing is passing! I've never heard of anyone asking what the score was, just that they passed. Thanks for the info though, that doesn't seem to burdensome.

2 hours a night on average. Used Becker for BEC. Lectures on Monday and Tuesday then MCQ and Sims the rest of the week. Failed my first time because my writing sims were short and garbage, wasn’t prepared.

I studied BEC for 9 days. I skimmed the becker book for the first 2 days. Then spent the next six days doing MCQs one day per chapter. on the last day, I did targeted MCQs on IT and ratios, since I heard that those topics were heavily tested. Didn't practice sims and didn't think about the writing portion.

I periodically did Ninja MCQs as well. On my lunches, and during downtime at work.

Passed with a 75. I got Weaker in mcqs, stronger on sims, and weaker on writing.

I blew through the lectures and took notes as I read along in the textbook. Then did the related MCQ for that chapter. After I completed each chapter, I did a bunch of progress tests (a Becker feature, not sure if other courses have this) where I could do sets of problems from all the chapters. If I was struggling with a particular topic, I practiced more MCQ on that chapter. I also had several cheat sheets of formulas for the ratios and cost accounting problems. I did about 2 hours on weeknights and maybe 6-10 hours on days I had off.

In regards to the WC, I didn't worry about it too much. I just looked at samples in the software. Generally, you need to follow the basic outline of “intro” (repeat the problem), “base paragraph” (answer / solution to the problem”, and “conclusion” (tell them what you told them). Also use lots of buzzwords, it is computer graded initially so it will look for all relevant vocabulary related to a particular topic.
