Serious question. This test takes so much out of a person, especially the people who do not pass on the first try. Waiting for scores to come out and wishing you could change stupid mistakes that you made..talking with people about this exam who haven’t taken it…seeing your friends pass on the first try…ect. Additionally, the time and sacrifices made to study and take this exam. How do you guys keep going? (It is easier said than done)

    Alcohol.

But in all seriousness, 20 years from now me will thank my former self for putting him through the hell known as the CPA exam. There's a lot of factors that go into why someone wants the CPA, money, moving up the corporate ladder, family reasons. Knowing how good I will feel after this is all over to prove to myself I can do it is more than enough of a coping mechanism. This is coming from someone whos taken the exam 10+ times.

I truly reminded myself every day that I had very close friends who would have given anything to trade places with me, once you take a deep breath and realize there are far worse things in life than having to restudy for a test you just do what you have to do. We tend to get so wrapped up in all things exam related that we lose site that its short term and most of the time rewarded in our career.
