I just took REG on Thursday and don’t feel very confident that I passed even though I studied my butt off. I’m going to make another thread or post somewhere detailing my experience. Let’s just say it wasn’t pleasant.

I need advice on how to use the “Search Within” function. How do you specify where to search? Do you have to be in a certain subchapter/section for it to work? If someone can provide steps on how to use the “search within” feature that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

In my opinion, search within is the key to passing most of these exams. What I do is:

    (1) find an uncommon word, for example “derivative”, and do a regular SEARCH for this. Scroll through the results to find the category that seems appropriate. Once you're sure you're in the right category, on the left select the top level of that category.

    (2) With the category (ie.. chapter, code section, etc.) now you can do a more specific SEARCH WITHIN. All that matters is that the category is highlighted/selected on the left pane, whatever is highlighted is what is searched within.

Hope that helps. Good luck to you, this is a very important skill for REG (and for AUD).

Ok cool, thank you. So you have to be in the general section and then searching within will only bring up results from that section. This will help if I need guidance for a specific SIM too in addition to just the research question. I kept searching within and it was bringing up the same results, but that was because I hadn't narrowed down the subsection first.
