But I live in GA. CO requires the ethics exam but GA does not. I’m spent on taking exams. Anyway to transfer exams to GA with the ethics exam?

go to the georgia board site or nasba if they are under them and find out what you need to do to transfer scores. make sure you meet the georgia requirements though. most states have an ethics component.
    congrats and good luck!

You'll have to meet all the GA requirements for initial licensure, so if you took exams through CO to avoid meeting GA requirements (like if GA's education requirements were stricter), then you'll almost for sure have to meet GA's requirements now. However, getting licensed in GA if you live in GA may be preferable to getting licensed in CO, anyway, in the long run. However, like moniker said, you can check the GA site and see what's required to transfer scores. It can be done, provided you meet their requirements.

on another note, the ethics exams are not like the cpa sections. so, if a colorado license is what you really want stay the course. it may make sense to transfer scores and acquire georgia license if that is where you will be working and living. i suggest that you make a decision based on your future not the ethics exam.

I live in GA now and plan to be here forever 🙂

I started my CPA journey while in my masters program in Colorado, so that's why I registered there initially. The ethics exam is only a small part of it. I definitely am transferring out of Colorado.

Also, question. I am totally confused. Ok, so I have passed the exams. Can I apply to GA straight up? Or because my exam jurisdiction was CO I have to apply and get licensed there first and then pay the reciprocity fee to move it GA? I am looking all over the information sites for each, but I am unclear on that point.

You can transfer the scores from CO to GA and get your initial license in GA. So, you don't have to get licensed in CO first. However, depending on what the initial license requirements are for GA, some people find it simpler to get their initial license in the state they took exams for (CO in your case), then apply for reciprocity for the state they're eventually in (GA in your case).

This should help: https://nasbastore.org/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=248&products_id=1097 It had Colorado as a “FROM” option and Georgia as a “TO” option.

Also, from looking here: https://sao.georgia.gov/gsba-frequently-asked-questions#field_related_links-103-1 It appears that the application for license happens within the NASBA site, so it could be that you can do everything you need from NASBA's site – send your scores to GA and complete the GA application all at the same time.
