Quick poll: in your opinion, which is weighted for higher difficulty on the exam?

    1. having to know minute detail

    2. requiring complex calculation

    3. 1 and 2 are equal in weight

Both will be on the exam, but I imagine tougher calculations would get greater weight. Knowing the minute details will be tested, but I would guess it would just be tested using tricky-worded questions.

Honestly, when I look at the recently released questions on Becker, which tell you if they are medium or difficult, there isn't much of a difference between the two in terms of length or complexity, conceptual or computational.

Theoretically, a question can be not very difficult, but the study materials can fail to teach it well, then the test takers do poorly on the related questions during pretest, then all the sudden this not very difficult question is worth more points.

I would think the calculations would be weighted higher, because it's higher level thinking. If you see the question and didn't study or are weak on that topic, you're more likely to get a fact question right by random guessing than complete a long calculation.

@MaLoTu: what do you mean Becker tells you if they are medium or difficult? I am currently in the process of doing some MCQs in Chapter 6 and do not see where they classify as medium or difficult. Maybe I am just missing something.

When you go to the recently released questions under options (to the left, it is a tab) on the portal home it tells you the questions and the difficulties in a pdf/document type format … it is not a pdf, per se, but a document.

Jessica – it would be nice if they would let you know when you are doing the questions!

Exactly why I was like wait they tell you that when doing the questions?! OMG thats so helpful haha but nope they don't. From all my time spent studying I definitely have a list of improvement points for Becker that is for sure!
