Has anyone taken a vacation in the middle of studying for an exam?

    Hi,

After seeing my second BEC failure, I need to shift my exam scheduling around.

I wouldn’t be able to study on vacation (leaving the country and will be in a camping type situation, and would rather not) I leave the 6th of August and get back the 14th of August, and would look at taking an exam on the 10th of September. I would study for three weeks prior, and then study for the three weeks I get back. I am thinking of doing this with my BEC retake because I was so close.

Has anyone successfully broken up their studying like this, and passed? I am thinking I might have a chance because it would be my third retake and I have a very light workload then. Just looking for other experiences.

    Thanks!

After I failed AUD, I went to Hawaii for a week and this about 2 weeks before my retake. I came back refreshed and passed AUD and BEC in the same window 🙂

Especially if you've been studying hard, I think a vacation can actually be really beneficial to you. Just make sure you hit the books when you get back!

I went on vacation just before REG and I passed, luckily, and it was my first attempt. The important thing to realize is that it is not likely that you are going to get a lot of study time if it is a family vacation. I have heard others on here take vacations with only their significant other and are able to fit in a couple hours of study a day … my experience with kids is it won't happen! lol

Thanks guys! No kids, just me and my boyfriend. And I don't want to study at all since we will be headed to a very beautiful Country. I think I can pull it off just as long as I get back into study mode once the jet lag wears off!

I am taking FAR for a third time … I see that you took a few attempts, as well. How did you prepare for the successful attempt?

I have gotten two consecutive 74s on BEC as well =(

I'm so sorry for both those, failing is such a bummer 🙁 I wish I would have gotten a different review test bank for BEC and studied an extra two weeks. D'oh!

For FAR, I finally went all in. I utilized Ninja, and didn't really talk to anyone for two weeks. The biggest thing was that I FINALLY PRACTICED THE SIMS. Seriously, as you know they are nothing like the exam but they really do help reinforce the concepts. And I had scored weaker on the SIMS each time, so I knew what I needed to do. I made flash cards, and read them every spare second. I also re-wrote my notes.

I would wake up, study three hours before work, and then I would try and get an hour during work. I would re-write my notes for at least a half hour every day after work. take a week off if you can, it is honestly the best use of PTO in my opinion. I tried to not think of anything else besides passing FAR! Then the last thing I did was buy Roger Cram four days before the exam. I think its what ultimately put me over the edge, though maybe not. I don't watch lectures because I zone out but he actually kept my attention and I had a couple of “Ohhhhh!” Moments.

    Good luck 🙂
