    Hello all,

I have been going back and forth on taking Audit before FAR, due to the Audit SIMS having a FAR flavor, and my accounting courses having been taken many moons ago. Does anyone who uses Gleim, find their SIMS to be representative of the types of FAR material I could see on the Auditing SIMS?

    BEC (2/28/16) ----- 78
    FAR (09/10/16)-----
    AUD
    REG

    CIA, CGAP, CFE

Yes, Gleim Sims prepare you well for the actual exam. FAR in audit Sims is usually referring to adjusting journal entries you would need to suggest to a client. If you are confident in your knowledge, take AUD first. If not, start with FAR. I would recommend FAR, AUD, REG, BEC.

    FAR - 08/30/15 - 90
    AUD - 11/12/15 - 92
    REG - 01/19/16 - 82
    BEC - 02/29/16 - 83

Passed all on 1st attempt using GLEIM (full program) and NINJA (MCQ only)!!!

Thanks Cpagal. I think because of the gap between school and now, I'm better off tackling FAR first. I just took BEC yesterday. I decided to go with the BEC first, to see if I could get a pass under my belt and build confidence; even though I know that by the majority's opinion, that isn't recommended as the first one.

I use Gleim, I hate their book (I read becker book now), however their sim seems prepare you well on the exam

    Far 10/26/2015, 64, 1/4/2016, 82
    Reg 7/10/2015, 60, 2/27/2016, 86
Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again
    Bec, 6/10/2016, 70,9/8 retake

I am a Gleim user, and I took AUD before FAR. FAR is definitely a very weak area for me, and I've been out of school for a few years now. However, I think the Gleim AUD SIMs were more than enough in terms of preparation. Having just sat for FAR last Friday, I can honestly say that I don't think doing FAR first would've added anything of value to my AUD experience. But that's just me. I'd only recommend doing FAR first because it's a beast. Better to get that demon out of the way.

    AUD: 95 (11/2015)
    FAR: 88 (02/2016)
    REG: 89 (06/2016)
    BEC: 90 (07/2016)
    Ethics: 93

I'm never studying for anything ever again!

    Sarah40460,

Thanks. I am thinking of going with FAR first, for the exact reason you stated. If it then adds to my audit experience, that will be an added bonus. I appreciate everyone's insight on this.

I just wrote AUD this morning. I have not written FAR. I found the SIMS to be long and tedious and requiring basic knowledge of financial statements. Actually, one SIM was entirely FS material, but again, quite straightforward. Overall, they were not as hard as I thought and I would not base your choice on assuming you need FAR to answer the AUD SIMS.

    REG Aug 20/15: 88
    AUD: Feb 29/16: 80
    FAR: Jun 10/16: 80
    BEC?

    @CPAGAL

I am also using Gleim and bough 10 point FAR, but I found I failed FAR at 69 on my last test, but the bummer is that I lost access to NINJA FAR MCQ due to expiration, which I did not know. I thought it will be like Gleim and you have full access till you pass. Since you have passed FAR with a very high score, can you share your experience of study habits on Gleim so that I might be able to use for my next round with FAR without the support Ninja MCQ?

    Thanks,
