Forfeit my current NTS to backup my exam date?

I registered for three sections at once after already passing one. I have passed two of those and now only have FAR remaining. I have FAR scheduled for the end of October which is also the very last day before my NTS expires. Due to a combination of a heavy workload at the office and my procrastination, I don’t feel I will be nearly prepared enough.

If I pass this section part by the end of the calendar year, I will get a bonus at work. Obviously October-November is the last testing window of the year, and you can only take each exam once in a window. I’ve researched NTS extensions, but it sounds like they will only grant one in an emergency (death in the family, military leave, serious illness). If I cancel my exam and eat the cost of the NTS, can I get a new NTS for FAR for November?

Additionally, my first section expires in early April. This only gives me two chances to take FAR (Oct-Nov and Jan-Feb). I would like to back my exam up so I don’t waste the Oct-Nov window.

Sorry if that was long, but I am unsure how to handle the situation and would really appreciate any advice.

    Thank you!

I dont know if Nasba is that generous because I had 2 NTS (1 for Aud and 1 for FAR) and AUD will expire in Nov while FAR in Jan and I was asking if I could flip those two around. Technically, I paid for them so why can't I take one in place of another? But that didnt work out.

My suggestion, why not just take it since you won't be able to retake the same test in one window and you already paid. Don't know what could happen. Just try your best and study as much possible. But if Nasba allows you to extend the NTS then I would say back it up. However, the chance of that happening..I can say is close to 0! Those people are just there to take our money!
