For those who've taken BEC – scratch paper?

I’m curious as to everyone’s experience who’ve taken BEC regarding scratch paper. When I took REG I was given 2 laminated sheets of paper with a marker that wouldn’t easily erase. However, I didn’t have to use it much for REG. Doing BEC problems I’m going through a ton of scratch paper to work through problems. I’m concerned that I will not physically have the space to do all of them.

What was your experience with this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone's different; I use Becker, Angie Brown lectures and stresses BEC content is conceptual based, more than calculation. I personally didn't use the laminated sheet much, but others just as smart as me will use the laminated sheet extensively. They're good enough, laminated sheets I mean. When they fill up, you can wipe em off. Actually have no idea if they allow tissue paper at prometric, but if not just wipe it off with your hand, no worries

You can swap out your sheets for new ones if you fill them up. Just bring them to the attendant.

You can swap them once you fill them up. Just raise your hand with the laminated sheet in your hand so they know to bring you one. Here's my strategy:

I use one laminated sheets solely for writing formulas / relationships / ratios / concepts as I come across problems / questions. I retain this laminated sheet for the entire exam. I never exchange it b/c I've found similar concepts to appear again and again and I don't want to waste time each question to “re-think” the concept. If I have it written down, I can easily refer to it. I also use this laminated sheet to keep track of how much time I should have left after each testlet so I know I'm on track time wise.

I use the 2nd laminated sheet to do problem-specific work. I generally exchange this sheet after each testlet, even if I've only used one-side of it since I know I can't go back to those problems again and I don't want to stop mid-testlet to get a new one.

I've used this strategy for all of my exams so far & it has worked very well!!

Does everyone get those crazy yellow ones with the gridlines? I HATE THOSE! I don't want them anymore! They have me two of them for FAR and I ran out of room and was too lazy to go back and ask for another one. We're not doing calculus here and graphing functions or plotting a data series. If anything, they should just leave them blank. Make them yellow, fine, but leave the gridlines off.

Thank you all for your responses. I didn't know that we could get more sheets…that makes my issue go away! @crazyleon, yes mine were light red grid lined paper.

But please don't think that this exam have that much calculations
All people who took the exam said that they got 10-15 questions only.
Others are a simple conceptual questions.

A little off topic, but Angie Brown was mentioned above as “lecturing.” Lmao. That professor is absolutely terrible and I cringe anytime she announces herself as the instructor for the chapter – seriously. By far, the worst instructor I have ever came across. Sorry for being pessimistic and negative, but Becker deserves hearing this for their chapter on Cost Accounting with Angie Brown.

Enough of my rant, but it is well deserved considering Becker's price tag!! Just saying!
