I know the term means that once the goods have gotten to the shipping dock, the title has transferred to the buyer. But literally what is the “shipping dock”? Does this mean once you bring the goods to UPS, or once they are shipped, then that means the title has transferred? It just gets wordy in the questions sometimes

A shipping dock is where a truck “docks” at the place of business the goods are being shipped to. The truck is docked and then the goods are unloaded into the facility. If you see trailers backed into an area without the truck attached… That will give you the visual.

Credit Revenue's visual of the shipping dock is a good one. But both the shipper and the receiver can have a shipping dock, it's basically where the loading & unloading takes place.

But more to your question – in FOB shipping point, the title transfers once the goods have been transferred to the carrier. So when they LEAVE the shipping dock, or when you hand them over to the UPS person.
