    Hi,

I am preparing BEC section right now,
and I just learned that calculator is not allowed in exam.
Also, it seems that I can’t bring writing utensil with me as well,
and writing tool and paper that test center provide are very crappy.

I find it significantly harder to solve calculation problems
    without writing utensil and calculator.

Can someone confirm these facts and
share me another things that I might be missing or you discovered to be
    surprising and unexpected?

    Thank you

I would start using the calculator in the program that you use to get used to it. I am curious about the paper thing as well. I think we are given two sheets and have to turn them in for more. Does anyone else know?

You should get two laminated sheets and a dry/wet erase marker. There will be a calculator on screen, but you can ask the testing center for an actual calculator as well. When you need a new sheet to write on, you raise your hand and they'll switch out your sheets on at a time.

I use the sheets each time and I always ask for an actual calculator. It's easier to use than the on screen calculator. I do recommend trying to use the on screen one in your study materials, just in case your testing center won't let you have one.

The laminated sheets and markers are just fine. I like them better than paper and pencil as the markers glide easier. The testing center can't give you a pencil or pen that would make noise as other students are testing as well in the same room.

Like Meg said, request a calculator. I don't think many people know that the handhelds are available, but ask and you shall receive!

I have always just used the calculator on my computer when I studied so the calculator in the program on exam day was never a huge deal… The laminated sheets are also just fine….

The handheld calculator is a game-changer, especially for BEC. I started using one while studying and have requested one for every exam.

I had no idea you could request an actual calculator, that is a good tip.

I always ended up just wiping the board clean with my finger as I went to avoid getting another one, but usually I do find that the markers are not very good.

You absolutely can ask for a calculator, which I did for BEC. Saves time, versus having to punch things in on a computer calculator.

    BEC (2/28/16) ----- 78
    FAR (09/10/16)-----
    AUD
    REG

    CIA, CGAP, CFE
