I am taking my first FAR exam tomorrow morning and I read somewhere on the forum that you can jot down notes/mnemonics/etc. once you sit down (before the start of the exam)? Would my exam be forfeited if I did that since there are cameras? I am in CA (Bay Area). Can someone clarify if they’ve done this or it’s a big no-no? Thanks!

Besides that, anyone have any tips for me from your past experiences?

As I'm aware, the moment you sit down, you're supposed to enter your launch code and you have 10 minutes to read the instructions, THOSE 10 minutes can be spent jotting down notes or formulas. But I do think they will stop you from writing if you haven't entered the launch code. The proctors do come in and out frequently to make sure your legs are touching the floor or if you're looking around too much.

    I'm in CA as well.

My best advice is to NOT be nervous. If you understand the material, you're golden. Don't second guess yourself. Good luck.

Awesome, thanks! I guess I'll just jot down notes instead of reading the instructions. I'm assuming it's pretty basic instructions that is…
