    Hi all,

Love this forum and your posts are always super helpful. Just received a 68 failing for audit (previously failed 59). I’m wondering what my plan should be, I’m studying with becker and using Ninja notes to supplement. I really don’t want to rewatch Becker lectures I feel that’s a waste of time and kind of want to reschedule early in the April window. That way I can begin studying for reg and take it in the same window. Studying full time. I’m thinking hammering MCQs / practicing SIMs / and focusing on weaker areas?

    Thanks for the help!

AUD is a very different and difficult beast. It's the only test that I failed and failed twice also. Jeff himself says the test is very different from the others due to its subjectiveness.

You really have to hammer the concept. Don't do multiple choice questions just to do it. Audit is also the easiest in terms of going through the MC questions because it feels like you can do 20 mc in 5minutes but you have to understand it conceptually.

Make sure to nail down all the different type of engagements, make sure you understand internal controls and why they are key controls that allows for separation of duties. Why these controls help protect and entity from fraud, misappropriation etc, and learn those assertions and how each test satisfies management's assertions!!! You got this man, I believe in you!

The way to pass AUD is to really understand the all Transaction Cycles and how they relate to each other. A lot if the questions comes from the transaction cycles.

Another tip is to study the AUD sims. They AUD sims are really useful and gives you a much better understanding of the transaction cycles and will help you how to understand the questions they are asking.

    Hey Guys,

Need all your suggestions. I have passed FAR, BEC and REG and Only left with AUD. Failed AUD with 57 and 68(today) :(…. My FAR credit expires on 04/13/19.. So I am really shattered with today's result… Can't focus on anything. So far for my preparation I have relied upon only Wiley CPA and was able to clear all except AUD.. Now I am not comfortable with Preapring by Wiley alone and wanted suggestions.. I was getting around 70 in Wiley practice tests on AUD . Please advise what would be my game plan… What other supplemental materials I need to use..

Will it Ninja or Roger or some other … please please advise… I don't want to loose FAR credit 🙁

@Dmikhail You have improved your score by 10 points. So even though you did not pass, you have made huge progress and you will pass next time. You mentioned using Becker McQ only and ninja notes. Have you taken the Becker practice test 1. How many times have you gone through all Becker questions? If you have gone through once and have not taken the practice test. I would take the practice test 1 and it will show your weak areas. Then you should practice only the weak areas until you master it. Then take the next practice test and see how your improve your score. It is critical to find out your strength and weakness and need to spend more time with the weak area. Another strategy would be use a new McQ from another program like Ninja and just practice with that.

    REG-66,64(Q3 2015),80 (11/30/2015)

I would not go back through all the lectures. Use the analytical tools in the Ninja test bank to really hone in on your weak areas. If you haven't already, do 200 or so MCQ and then run the report that shows all questions attempted/correct/missed by topic. Go back through the book or lecture and really drill MCQ for any area with less than 70% on that report.

Also, I would put in more time on Sims for AUD than any of the other tests. The reason being that the MCQ are so conceptual in nature, it can be a killer if you spend all of your time on them and then have to change gears to applying the information at a high level in the sims come exam day. Since you have Becker, attempt as many MCQ as you can, then watch the Skillmaster videos for each one.

Thank you guys all for the helpful posts. My next question is how long should I spend reviewing or restudying for the retake? I was originally thinking April 1 (2 weeks about) so I can fit REG in the same window but now I’m thinking 3 weeks from today.

Shakil, I did do all 3 practice becker exams averaged 70s should I look at the weaker areas in my 3 mock exams? I think doing them over might be a waste of time. I think maybe running a large progress test of maybe 36 or 62 questions just to see where I’m weaker on and focusing might be my best bet.

Jimmy, I don’t have NINJA but maybe progress tests on becker to see where I’m weak and hone in. I think I need to practice sampling and the cycles more.

Overall I think I did really well on MCQ came to sims and I bombed like 3 of them if I have to guess. Just have to pick myself up and get back to studying :/

Thanks so much for the help everyone!!

This is just me but I'd spend the money and get Ninja monthly. The only thing I don't really like about Becker is the lack of analytical tools that help dig into weak areas. The Becker mock exams are almost useless for this because you get 1-2 questions from EVERY single area, no matter how much that area may be weighted on the exam. You could guess right on the two questions you might get on SSARS in the mock exam and mistakenly think you know that area well. Good luck on whichever route you take.

GLEIM TEST Bank helped me to pass Audit. It almost cost my FAR score. I was scoring on 90s in both Roger and NINJA practice test, however GLEIM Test bank provided me with extra boast and different way to look at the problem. I would definitely try just GLEIM TEST BANK and hammer their MCs and Sims if you have not done already.
