Finished regular material, 3 week review….Question

    Okay, I finished the last Gleim unit today, so I have approximately a 3 week review period before my exam (06/10). I mapped out some of the harder units for me, coupled with the Content Specific Outline, and created a game plan. I ran through a quick 20 questions last night, and am almost too embarrassed to admit that I scored lower than my initial pass through the material! Has anyone experienced this? I’m not giving up, but that was pretty sobering.

    First of all, people will feel friendlier towards you if you go back to your thread from the day before instead of starting a new one. Not totally sure why, but it's somehow an unwritten rule of forums…something like that starting a new one almost looks like you're disregarding what was said in the old one. Not saying you are in any way; just saying, for the future, go back to the old one if it's within the last couple days or even teh last couple weeks. If it's 2 years old, go ahead and start a new one. (Hope that doesn't come across as jumping on you or anything – it's something I've seen people get jumped on for, so wnated to give you a friendly suggestion before someone did jump on you, but nto sure if it sound sfriendly or not. 😐 )

    Secondly, it's to be expected that it will be lower on review. It's been how long since you last studied that material? The goal is that now that you're in review stage, it starts to come up. Towards that end, though, it's important that your review is cumulative. Don't spend 1 day reviewing each chapter, or you'll get to the end of that review (2 weeks from now if it's 14 chapters; not sure how many chapters Gleim has) and find out that you forgot what you reviewed today by the time you get to 2 weeks from now. So, in this review stage, you want to be dealing with a bit of everything every day. And initially, that's going to make some really crappy scores. But in time, they'll start to come up. Hopefully, you'll be trending at least high 70's if not in the 80's by exam day, and you'll realize that today's low score was nothing to worry about. 🙂

    How many sets of 20MCQs are you doing a day? I too have a FAR exam scheduled for 6/10/16. I am using beckers self study. Been doing every MCQs from chapter 1 and it does not look good. I am scoring between 60-75 every time on the set of 20 MCQs.

    Just started my review. I had to finish my initial pass through the material, so I am beginning the intense review today. If you're averaging that range, you're still in much better shape than me, with that much time. I'm embarrassed to even share my score from last night. I know it'll get better as I “memorize”, but I'm worried, because memorization isn't the way to go.

    I just asked my group what is the normal mcq goal for 22 days left before testing. What goal have you guys set.
    I think the key is to keep going, we know we are not going to get them all right, and yeah I think it would be good to be at at least 75%…I am trying to set a goal so I make sure I am doing enough.

    It begins with a 75

    Not real sure about a firm goal. Some of these areas are more troublesome and time consuming than others, so it is hard to gauge what a firm number should be. What does your group feel, in terms of a number per day? Gleim has 2,497 questions. Lol.

    @lilla,

    I started this thread, because my prior thread didn't address the same thing. This one was merely stating that I finally got to the review, and to my surprise, my scores were even lower than my initial pass through the units. Tonight was a little better, but not a lot. My hope is, as you say, to just keep plugging away.
