jpowell31ParticipantHi there, I can’t seem to find definitive details online or on this forum although it has to been discussed several times so I apologize. can someone who’s recently sat an exam provide me with the contact e-mail for filing a complaint after an exam? I’ve forgotten my attendance form at home, where I currently have no internet and want to get my complaint in before my 5 days are up! Thank you!

jpowell31Participanti don't think it was that big of a deal but, without giving too much info, one of my SIMs was set up with 2 columns for 2 different years to put in amounts determined by a list of transactions given in the question. two of the transactions did not state what year the transaction took place. because the rest of the transactions were not in date order, it wasn't obvious to assume what year they occurred in. couldn't hurt putting in a complaint if it could get reviewed for a couple of points and at least be clarified if used in future exams.

jgodParticipantI think you should. I took REG recently and I felt like the quality of some of the questions was not that great. They were not as clear as they could have been.
And I'm not just griping. I have the most background on REG of any of the sections. I'm not saying this out of frustration or lack of preparation.

CPA2BEEParticipant@jpowell31 you might want to edit that post, discussing the nature/structure of exam questions violates content disclosure (I believe).

Claudia408Participantjpowell – i felt the same way about one of the SIMs when I took FAR last time. I really felt like there was a couple pieces of key information I needed that they didn't provide. I made assumptions and I know it didn't feel right. I actually mentioned in the comment section in the survey immediately after I submitted the exam that I think they didn't provide the key pieces of info. I didn't pass – 68, not super close but I think it just speaks to how messed up the SIMs are… not clear, leaves room for interpretation, possibly lack of key info!?? Anyhoo, there's no way they would admit to messing up if they actually did.

jpowell31Participanti can't edit it anymore, unfortunately, but that structure could be the same for just about any topic that could be tested so don't think it's divulging the nature of the question beyond what's already known. it's no different than someone saying to study the newer DRS sims or whether or not they got one or two of them….but maybe that's not right for people to say either, i've just seen that particularly a lot with it being a new addition. if it's too specific hopefully @Jeff can delete it..
i also mentioned it in the comment section after my exam but am not certain that gets reviewed specifically in relation to my exam or if it's just added to a general bank of feedback on the exam, prometric, studying process/use of AICPA practice test, function of mouse etc…

letsrun4itParticipantI got a question once that you had to assume that because an item was sold it had a profit. i thought that was weak even though i could tell what it wanted me to assume.

jpowell31Participanti did get a quick response back via e-mail saying to provide information for reviewing. i've seen other people put in complaints and i don't think they actually confirm whether or not there was an error or if something was fixed.
But as long as there's no forfeited time-out for raising the flag (bad football reference) and it's proven wrong… if it helps in anyway whether it be me or someone else it's worth taking a couple minutes to send in.October 10, 2016 at 10:48 pm #1253101
RoadWarriorParticipantSuper brave, and kind of you! I have always been convinced that writing comments draws attention to a test in a way that can only wind up detracting. It could have a neutral result, but not positive, so I've never written anything. Didn't write when my rather uncommon first name appeared as the protagonist of two questions. Didn't write when a rat ran under me in the testing center. Didn't write when I had the same multiple choice question three times, once in each testlet. Three times! At this point I feel like they may be testing me with oddness.

jpowell31Participantha @roadwarrior. well my issue was minor and was either right or wrong. couple of points couldn't hurt so i hope it doesn't (hurt!). i've had the same MCQ twice in an exam on separate occasions and also had a storm pounding on my window one time and construction on the floor above me another time…i didn't say anything any of those times as those could be trivial and i didn't want to be whiney. my friends get to hear that…and you guys, of course! π i've not heard of anyone getting extra points or a refund based on those sorts of complaints.

jpowell31Participantha i need itttt. i feel like i could be on the border! they responded to say they appreciate the notification and they ensure that if anything comes of it that all candidates with that SIM will have their scores reflect the appropriate action but that with the secure nature of the exam they cannot provide any further information as to the outcome of their investigation.

DParticipant@jpowell31 – when I took REG back in Aug, I came across at least one instance of the same thing. And similar to @jgod, its not that I couldn't figure it out due to lack of preparation (although clearly from my score I could have done better to prepare).
However there really were a couple instances in the SIMS where information was just “missing”. It was frustrating because I know they are starting to test out this new method… however in my opinion they have a long way to go before it's ready and I really hope that in the meantime its not hurting people's scores.
I will say that although my score was bad, my diagnostic showed me “Stronger” in SIMS and “Weaker” in MCQ. So, who knows… maybe they are being more generous because they know some of the new SIMS are cr@p…
Anyway, good luck!! I'm sure you passed from the sounds of it. I have my retake for REG on Sunday.. fingers crossed my MCQ scores go up and SIMS stay strong! π
