Hey guys –

I take audit on Friday but I have heard a lot that there was a substantial amount of FAR related topics on the Audit exam.

Not asking for particulars or any disclosure from anyone who has took it, but I’m curious if anyone can think of some FAR related topics on Audit besides ratios – as that is all I can manage to think about is related to FAR.

Any brainstorming ideas would be much appreciated so I can maybe go a little bit more in depth with them the next few days here.

Echoing the 2 posts above. The AUD test will obviously be a majority of audit and concept.. but I do feel like there was some FAR-like stuff that popped up in a couple MCQs (not a ton) and couple SIMS for sure.

However, I can see how debit/credit stuff MAY pop up on AUD – since in order to even determine if something is an audit issue, you need to understand the financial impact – however it was certainly not covered in most AUD review materials.

Just don't forget to use the Authoritative Literature to your advantage in the SIMS! Even if you have something difficult and FAR-like, the AI may have guidance that will help with the answers. I know I used it for at least 5 of 7 SIMS.

I recall SIMS that were FAR-like, but they were both very basic, meaning anyone with a few accounting courses under their belt could handle.

Think about if you were the auditor and found misstatements in an account. How would that affect the financial statements?

Also think about which analytic procedures you would do and what the results would imply.

Kind of vague, but it's more specific than saying there will be some FAR in AUD.

There are FAR related topics but they relate to things that would affect the audit procedures.

AUD assumes you know FAR for adjusting and closing entries, proper treatment of transactions, and required disclosures.
