    Hey guys, I currently have FAR scheduled for the end of Jan 2017 and wanted your thoughts on this study plan. I will be using Becker and spend my time watching / quickly going through all the lecture videos beforehand (Chp 1 to 10) to get the highlights and notes down. After I have finished this I would start from the beginning and read the text and complete the homework and sims before moving on to the next chapter. For my review I may use Ninja MCQ as a supplement. Any thoughts on this method from Becker users? The reason I am deciding on this method is that the lectures go by way too fast to remember the content but at the same time I find the highlights are really important. I understand this may be time consuming but have any of you guys done this?

    Is there any particular reason you want to do all of the lectures at once? If all you care about is getting the notes and highlights down in the book you can just open the PDF version and copy it from there, and save yourself about 30 hours of lecture watching. Otherwise I'd do the lectures as you go. What I've always done is watch a section of the lecture and do the highlights, then read that section, then do the homework, then move on to the next section. Once I've finished every section in the chapter I do the sims. Make sure you take progress tests every now and then on everything you've learned so far, that's really important for retaining information.

    @fruity snacks The plan you are describing is sort of the NINJA framework.
    Nail the concepts
    Intense notes
    Non-stop MCQs
    Just rewrite your notes
    All comes together

    I really like your plan. The problem I had with Becker is that it was difficult to get through the questions, and I would be exhausted halfway through. The MCQs can be overkill and confusing, and sometimes the explanations do not make sense.

    Of course, I am one point away, so my advice- grain of salt. lol Good luck!!

    @allison213 The reason I am thinking about doing the lectures first is because only bits and pieces stay in my memory after I finish and it goes by really fast. I guess it is ultimately a personal preference though! I've been doing the same strategy you recommended and although its really time consuming it is probably the best

    @stilgoin
    Yea I definitely agree that there are so many MCQs but it definitely helps in preparing for the exams! It just requires a lot of time, especially all of the simulations

    @fruity snacks I’m not referring to the amount of MCQs as much as the difficulty of them. The Becker MCQs are overkill in that each question was way too much information and I got lost in the weeds, and the explanations were nowhere near enough to make sense of those ridiculous questions. It was totally inefficient studying for me. I increased my FAR score 15 points after I ditched Becker FAR and turned to NINJA Plus and NINJA MCQs, and will hopefully have it passed next time. Everyone is different, I guess, but Becker FAR was not good for me and the separation anxiety because I left Becker was terrible, as well. Lol
