I take my test on Tuesday. my average trending is 65 and my average (based on last 5 test) is 68 (was 73, but I starting to make really stupid mistakes). I am not going to go any further tonight. I am planning on getting my notes together and look over calculations that I am having problem with. My goal is to review the ninja notes, my index cards, and be able to write my cheat sheet out. I don’t want to look at any more MCQ, but should I. I am a little worried I will burn myself out. Oh, by the was the exam is at 12:30 on Tuesday.

Any advice or anything that might have worked in your favor before?

I stopped doing MCQ 2 days prior to my FAR exam. The day before the exam I read my notes and ninja notes, went over differences between IFRS and GAAP (which I'm glad I did), memorized those formulas and JEs that I was having trouble with, and memorized mnemonics. I also made a one page “cheat sheet” that I rewrote about 10 times until I had it memorized. On exam day during the first few acceptance screens (I believe you have 10 minutes) I rewrote my cheat sheet.

My exam was also at 12:30, so the morning of my exam I went over the ninja notes and troublesome JEs one last time.

If you don't know the Government JE, and you can definitely pass the exam without knowing those, I'd write those out 10 times and memorize them. That could get you 5-6 points on a SIM or at least 2-3 points on MCQ. I think that has the best upside of how to spend your time.

If you don't know the JE to treasury stock for both methods I'd write that out too.

Doing 300 or 400 MCQ between now and test time isn't going to be the difference from passing and not passing but those JE might be.

    Good luck, rooting for you!

Thank you so much for the advice. I am going to read the ninja notes, write my cheat sheet and write je about 100 times. I just feel like i am wasting time, you know? I just really dont want to take this exam again!! I am getting more anxious by the minute. Hopefully i am in The range of passing. I would love a couple more days, but i bet everyone says that. Lol

I have 3 more study days left and I wish I had none. I am so on the verge of being burned out. I just want to take FAR and be done with the CPA exams forever. I try to be real with myself and tell myself what I don't know and just work on that stuff. Basically whatever questions I don't want to show up next in the MCQ gotta find those questions and do those.

MPEREZ– also, don't worry once you pass FAR the rest is so much better. I've literally spent 3x more time studying for FAR than I spent on any other section, including both times I took REG combined.

I know what you mean about finding the questions you don't like. I get bonds, and leases but for life of me i can't understand the spot and 30 day forward rates and such. I get to ensure you revalue at every balance sheet date, but what i dont get is when they have the 30, 60 or spot rates listes. I have been working on it today and i think with my luck there will be 30 of them on the test.. lol
