    Hey Everyone,

This is my first time posting on this site, I have been reading this blog for about 4 months now and finally decided to participate. I will be taking FAR on the 29th and have been studying since the 1st week of March. I have been studying using Becker and I am feeling completely overwhelmed. I took the second Final Exam that Becker provides and received a 65% on the multiple choice section and did significantly better on the simulations (I got around a 90%… which I thought was really weird… I think that those sims are too easy). Everything I read says “focus on your weaknesses, focus on your weaknesses” but at this point it is getting difficult to find my weak points. Everything that I miss I feel like is just some ticky-tacky small thing that I will never remember…. I know im not supposed to go into (or leave) the exam feeling good… but given the score that I received on the Becker final what do you all think? Do I have any chance at passing this thing? What would you do 2 days before the exam? should I just keep doing progress tests? keep reading flash cards?

(ps. I mostly wrote this to vent, because I am feeling extremely stressed about this one, I felt a lot better about my first exam, Reg)

    REG - 90 (2/2016)

Progress tests. If something is truly not sinking in reread it in the book. Tomorrow I would maybe study early in the day. Then try to relax and be rested and fresh for the exam.

    A - 79 expires 4/30/16 need a pass on REG
    B - 78
    F - 80
    R - 83!!! Can live again!

@Memphis1992 – I don't necessarily have any advice, but I wanted to let you know that I feel your pain!! I am taking FAR on Monday, and I'm not even close to prepared. I felt pretty good before my first three exams. Not so much this time. :/ I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

In my last two days, I did the AICPA released questions. I didn't do any more set of MCQ or test in that two days. I focused on the big picture. I opened up the textbook and scanned through it page by page. I made sure I have a general understand on each topic in the book. Forget about the review score. They are just a reference.

Sleep early the night before, let the brain rest. Go there a little early that day. Use the timeslot before you enter your passcode and the 10 mins “instruction time” to settle yourself mentally. Plan your target timing. Make sure you leave enough time for SIMS.

    Good luck and have fun.

I've already taken FAR, but do your MCQ's from your final exam include repeats? I'm posting to give y'all some hope – I used Roger and I did not pass any of my practice exams (scored in the low 70s on all, with 65-70 average on quizzes), however my real score was passing. None of my exams or quizzes included repeats. So, a 65 may not be as bad as you think – depending on the frequency of repeated questions. Good luck!

Thanks for the support everyone. The final exam does not have any repeats. Despite Becker beating us to death with over 2k multiple choice questions for FAR, the Final Exam is full of 90 fresh never before seen questions.

    I would agree with marqzho,

The difference between Becker MCQs and the ones you will see on the exam is that Becker provided the study material for their questions. Now you will be asked to answer questions written by people who did not provide your study material. This is why CPA exams are more difficult that what you experienced in college.

It’s a good idea to now spend a day reviewing questions conceived by someone other than your review course. The AICPA is a great source.

    Good luck!

I also agree – the AICPA sample questions are a good source to study from. You may be surprised what they consider to be difficult vs moderate. Another suggestion – take the NASBA practice test! It's especially helpful for your first exam, to understand the software that's being used at Prometric. Depending on time – if Becker tracks your incorrect MCQs, I'd also suggest going back and reading the explanations. I never repeated a question because I didn't want to skew my stats and memorize answers, but the explanations helped me to improve upon my weaker areas.
