Currently on Ch 7 of FAR (Becker), my plan is to do Ch 8 next week, followed by Ch 9 and Ch 10. The last two chapters squeezed into one week may not be doable with all the modules and skills practices. I was wondering should I focus on one more than the other or skim through both chapters?

I want to leave myself two full weeks of review for my test on 9/4. I have done a chapter a week basically the entire summer. Looking to use Ninja MCQ to review seeing as I’ve used it to pass AUD and REG (pending).

    BEC – 77
    AUD – 70, 75
    REG – 73, Q2 (pending)
    FAR – 9/4

I'm speaking for myself here because I use Becker but I think the problem with governmental and non-profit is that they put the material at the end of the review course. So for example, if you're using Becker, by the time you get to the last chapters you're mind is filled and you're kinda checking out before you start your review. Also, the information is much different than the regular flow from the previous chapters.

I think it would be wise for Becker (and I'm not sure how other CPA review courses do it) to put this material like right in the front when you start studying. Governmental and non profit get hit so hard on the exams so I think it's important to study it when you're fresh. Nonetheless, when you begin your review, definitely try to hit it first so you're on top of it. I think that candidates don't put enough emphasis on it because (speaking solely on Becker) they put the material at the end of he review.

@nvm5223 , I agree with you but you see Govt accounting doesn't fit in GAAP framework hence it is kept in last.NFP same follows GAP but it is Govt then again it is not fitting in typical IS/BS format just like private.Earlier people in this forum used to give a common suggestions that focus on Govt/NFP.
In Q1 and Q2 they reduced it to bare minimum .It seems they again given more weight to these two chapters than mentioned in blue print doc.
While Big Mike is suggesting last 3 chapters but I feel you can't solve SIMs if you don't focus on first 3 chapters. LOL
Middle 4 chapters ( bond , Lease , Pension and Notes payable ) is for rest of the MCQ. LOL
@MVM , thanks again for your positive suggestions.

Just thought Id chime in and share that I am on F9 right now and testing Sept 7. Hopefully I am down with F10 by mid next week and can review everything for 2.5-3 weeks before the exam.

@nvm5223 I had a friend take FAR yesterday he told me that he did not see a lot of the last three chapters on his test. That does not mean I will overlook them. He said the Sims were no joke, mostly DRS's. I already expected that cause I took REG in Q2 and 5 out 8 sims were DRS's with multiple tabs.
