Hi guys, this will be my 3rd attempt at FAR and I’ve gone through all chapters in Becker other than chapter 10 because the first two times around, I’d say the amount of questions from chapter 10 was extremely lacking and it isn’t worth the heavy studying at this moment. I am doing the questions from the chapter but not isolating the chapter itself.

As of right now, I take a practice test of 60-90 MCQ every day and I take the time to review the quiz and then review the areas that I am weak in. My only question is, at this point in time, is it worth the time to try and learn certain topics that have always given me trouble, such as, Dollar Value LIFO and Diluted EPS, to name a few. My reasoning behind this is that the diluted eps questions in the becker software are ridiculously difficult that I just don’t feel would show up on the exam (hopefully won’t at least). Right now I’m spending a lot of time on Chapter 2 which is revenue recognition and chapter 4 and bonds and leases. Gov’tal and NFP accounting I feel I have a decent understanding of to answer most questions.

Do you guys think this will suffice? Or should I spend more time on areas such as leases/bonds. I understand most of them but Lease Salesback and Bonds with Detachable warrants give me trouble. I just really don;t want to have to take this exam for a 4th time….

    Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

With only 3 days left I don't think I would spend too much time on specific topics. I personally just hammered Ninja MCQs (no particular direction) the final week/week and a half leading up to my exam. Dollar-Value-LIFO and Diluted EPS were pretty difficult for me as well and I (luckily) didn't see them on the exam. The only way not knowing those could really hurt your chances of passing is if they end up in the SIMs which there probably is a decent chance of since they'd be pretty hard to test in the MCQs. Just keep slamming those MCQs, know the reason for correct & incorrect answers, and go into the exam with confidence and you'll do great. Good luck

Today and tomorrow I would work as many MCQs in sets of 20 to 30 as much as possible. I would alternate from set of questions reviewing everything and sets reviewing topics you struggle with.

Friday, take it easy. Make your study day “cheat sheet” to study before you head into the exam. You got this!

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

Do what okc said – cram in as many MCQs as you can up until test day. Do some sims to break up the monotony. On test day, do a handful (20 to 40) of MCQs just to wake your brain up and get in the right mindset.
