This is the first exam I’ll be taking and I’ve been feeling a little (actually…. a LOT) overwhelmed over FAR. For review, I am using Roger CPA and, after going through some posts on here, Roger CPA seems to be unpopular here. I’ve read elsewhere that RogerCPA tends to have easier MCQ and don’t cover topics in as much detail as Wiley or Excel.

For those of you who have used Roger’s review course or who have seen their material/MCQ’s, what did you think? I’m really scared that doing Roger’s MCQ’s are actually much easier than the exam questions. What makes me even more scared is that, if they are easier, the fact that I am scoring sub-75 on the quizzes must be a bad sign.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so anxious for an exam in my life. It has even been getting in the way of a good night’s rest!

    Any insight/advice would help!

    Thanks!

5 days is cutting it close but I recommend with FAR especially to grab a hold of Jeffs Ninja Notes and rewrite them until your hand falls off. Then ofcourse sew it back on and continue rewriting them. Personally I felt that they were able to open my eyes to some of the concepts and bring me towards that ahha moment.

ALSO, I recommend that you look over the GOV and NFP sections. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT (hence the capital letters).

As you can see, I truly believe that this is what go me that 75 (and a lot of praying truth be told)

    FAR:75!
    AUD:69, 63, 73, TBD
    BEC:76!
    REG:71, TBD

Rogers questions are all old CPA exam questions so Im not sure why you feel they arent going to prepare you.

Just make sure you understand how to do all the sections.or atleast a good part of them and you should be fine.

I used the roger book and wiley mcq for my far retake on may 13th. I think the materials were great and the wiley mcq were more difficult compared to the test.

Thought I'd post to give you some encouragement – I only used Roger and I thought his program was excellent. I realize people learn differently, but I think much of the criticism on here of his program is unwarranted. I agree with what was posted above – make sure you understand WHY an answer is right or wrong. I'm not in the camp of pounding MCQ until your eyes bleed – I never hit 1,000 questions on any section (including FAR). Also – to cheer you up on your scores – I averaged 65-70 on all of my quizzes and practice exams, and I passed. I made it a point to repeat very few or any questions because I didn't want to skew my average. I found his MCQ's were on par or harder than the actual exam. Another idea – take the AICPA practice exam and look at the released questions. You might be surprised what is considered to be a difficult vs moderate question. And don't skimp the AL – I think many people who have problems on SIMS would do much better if they were more familiar with the AL.
