I’ve been studying for FAR since October and spent the last month doing MCQs and sims non stop. I know I’m not grasping all the information even though I’m studying as much as I can around work and family duties (about 30 hours a week.) I’ve just gone through a practice exam and scored 57%. This is my first CPA exam and I’m positive I’m going to fail. Has anyone been in this position?

What review materials are you using?

    FAR 7/25/15 76!
    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
Ninja Book and MCQ and the forum - all the way!!!
and a little thing i like to call, time and effort!

I'm using Roger and the Wiley test bank.

Instead of trying to tackle new stuff, I would review all sections, and work on the class examples and simulations in Roger's FAR book. They should cover most of the stuff you will see on the exam.

It sounds like you have studied enough and you might be panicking a little bit. Forget about the practice exam, it may not be even close to what you will actually see on the exam.

Believe me when I say this, FAR is not that scary when you are in control. Accept the fact that you will see some “friendly” questions and there will be others that you may not be able to figure out.

All you need to do from this point to the moment you submit your exam is to stay calm, trust your knowledge and use your mind. The exam will be over in 2 days no matter what but it is up to you to set your attitude towards it.

    Good luck!
