Took my exam on Saturday and I have to say I was feeling confident in my answers on the first 3 testlests but my god were the SIMS ridiculous. I thought I managed my time well enough for the SIMS, well I guess 90mins wasn’t enough time because these SIMS were just not fair. I know I got one of them 100% but I will say I do not feel confident I got any of the other 6 correct. I didn’t even get to two of them so I just filled in the open slots. Being that this was my 3rd time taking the exam, I’m hoping I scored better than I think I did but I wouldn’t be shocked in the least bit if I scored in the 60s again.

I currently have access from Becker, Roger, Ninja Audio, Notes. anyone have any cheap options on what I should do next. I just don’t think I can read through the same books for a 4th time…..

    AUD: (65)(66) 77
REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....
    FAR: (68) (66)(69)(71)
    BEC: (63) 75

Idk why AICPA is making SIMS really hard… I gave my exam on 2/19 of this qtr and found my SIMS to be hard. I know am not going to pass this attempt. I started studying for 3rd attempt already.

I totally agree with you. Once I got to the sims, I was like what the eff if this?! The sims were brutal.

If it was easy then everyone would get a CPA.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

@Justanothercandidate: It sounds like you still might have a chance though! I know most people hate hearing positive thoughts and uplifting statements, BUT if you think you did well on the MCs and got a few of the SIMS 100% you might still be ok! I felt way worse than you when I was done and I got a passing score! You only need a 75!! Who knows just keep chugging along :]

    AUD - 69, 77
    REG - 74, 81
    FAR - 75!
    BEC - 71, 82

    IL candidate!

    Finally done (5/24/16)!! Yahooooooo!

I'm actually the exact opposite as all of you. I probably flagged a total of 30 questions (didn't go back and look at them, those are only the ones that I answered that I wasn't 100% sure about). When I got to the sims, I thought they were hard, but I was able to give a fair shot with 6 out of 7, the 7th I completely bombed.

I know for one (not the research) I used the codification, and it helped me a lot in answering the question by reading the guidance. The research question I know was right because I was able to read the question in the answer word-for-word. I feel like I don't have a shot at passing because I don't feel like I did well enough on my MC.

I felt the basis of what they were asking for every question was reasonable, but on my second testlet, they always threw in one little detail at the end of the question which is something that obviously wouldn't be studied in great detail. I probably flagged 14 or 15 in my second testlet alone. I honestly feel like come Tuesday night, I will end up finding out I need to retake FAR again, but I decided to move onto AUD. It's making the wait a little more bearable. Good luck!

    FAR - (8/20) 70, (10/28) 72, (2/22) 76
    REG - (6/8) 69...
    BEC - (11/18) 77
    AUD - (4/14) 72...

I've posted this in other threads, but I just took FAR on 2/29 (my first exam) and felt like the sims weren't all that bad. I'm curious to know what kind of sims everyone else had since most people said they were crazy lol. One of mine asking for journal entries was brutal and I really didn't know how to answer it. The rest weren't terrible, but they really try and trick you when they format these sims. One of them I knew how to answer, but the way they asked you to do it on the sim didn't make a lot of sense to me so I'm hoping I did it right. Another one mixed up the layout of one of the F/S's and I had my answers in the wrong spot. Good thing I went back and checked or I would have lost points.

I probably flagged around 15-20 questions and didn't really notice them getting harder, but I guess that's somewhat objective based on your strengths and weaknesses. If you base it off them getting longer and wordier that doesn't necessarily make them harder. Unless I was a really good guesser that day and the one sim was a pretest, I'm expecting a retake next month.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29
