I’m taking the FAR exam in July and am having problems navigating the exam and tools (calculator, excel) efficiently. Are there any tips or tricks to utilize these quickly and efficiently?

I probably wouldn't even try to use the excel function during the exam. The only time I would use excel is for a TBS question on bonds or something to set up an amortization table to help organize so that I can see the total flow, but even then, I would probably just write it down on paper. Personally, I can write dont information much faster with pencil and paper than set up a spreadsheet. As for the calculator, if you request to use a calculator you should be able to use one during your exam instead of the computer calculator. I emailed NASBA for the paper, pencil and calculator request and received an email that they have approved and forwarded my request to Prometric.

One tip that I have found helpful is that during your exam if you come across a MCQ that you are unsure of, make your best guess and use the flag function and then if you have time left over at the end of that MCQ testlet, go back and see if something clicks when you revisit.

Hello. I recently purchased Becker after being unsuccessful with Roger. I have struggled to take tests my entire life. In fact, I never found an effective way to study. Instead I just worked 4x as hard on the rest of the assignments- homework, essays, projects, extra credit, etc. and maintained a B+/A- average.

I have followed Becker's method but I am finding it takes me 4 hourish to get through one subsection(lecture, skills practice, MCQ's). Is this normal? FAR is broken into 10 sections with about 8 subsections plus TBS and Progress Tests. This means you have to do more than one section per day. I am feeling like I cannot keep up this pace and make it to the end? Can anyone suggest how they broke sections down per day/week to allow them to complete 10 sections sections in 10 weeks like the Becker schedule suggests?

Thank you in advance for your help! 🙂
