Thinking about pushing my FAR date forward, currently scheduled for April 11th. I just finished F2. Do you think I could sneak out a pass if I scheduled it for 2/29? I am sick of studying and want to be done. HIYA

    Thanks for your help!

I know you want to get the exams over with but I don't think that is the smartest idea. I think it would be more beneficial to take your time and study the material instead of going in blind. You already have two exams passed so use the same study strategy and I'm sure you will know FAR out of the park!!!!!

I don't think you'll be able to sneak by on 2/29 – especially not FAR. You're not going to accidentally pass FAR. Tough it out, grind out your study sessions and pass on 4/11.

If you were in this position with BEC, I would say it can be done (I did BEC in 3 weeks). But FAR? That would be extremely difficult to do with 8 more chapters to go.

Do you work full-time? If the answer is yes, I would definitely say just wait until April, because I just can't see you having enough time to adequately prepare, unless you are at risk of losing a section (which doesn't appear to be your case). Yes, it is true that you won't be penalized for failing a section, but you would be out the exam fee, which isn't cheap, along with the time and effort.

If you don't work full-time and assuming you can work 10-12 hours per day every day, then maybe you could do it.

I'm beginning to worry about myself because I'm currently on Chapter 6 of 10 for FAR, with my exam scheduled for the 29th. Second attempt, and I had told myself I would be ahead this time around, but unfortunately, I've fallen a bit behind. Fortunately, governmental accounting is my strong suit (I deal with it every day on the job), so I'll fly through 8 and 9. I'm hoping to get 6 and 7 done by the end of this week.

    AUD - 85 (8/30/2015)
    FAR - 73 (10/13/2015), 85 (2/29/2016) (AND DONE!)
    BEC - 83 (11/04/2015)
    REG - 81 (11/30/2015)

I studied FAR for 12 days (with a couple weeks of study in the early chapters a couple months prior) and I got a 70 on my second attempt. I had to do one chapter lectures/MCQ a day and had 2 days to “review” which was hard because I was totally mentally fatigued by that point. If you did what I did, you would be done with all chapters by 2/25 and then can review for 3 days … However, I strongly discourage it unless you feel you have a good grasp on the material already. It can be done, but it is more likely to cause a fail than a pass.

Just bang it out and be ready. Q2 window will probably be extended till March 11th and we will not know it until March 1st.

If you are willing to make yourself miserable for the next 2 weeks, I say move it to the 29th. Will it be hard for you to pass? Yes. Will you be able to pass without spending every spare hour you have studying between now and then? No. As long as you are ok with the possibility of failing and losing the money, then go for it. One of the best things that happened to me in this process is I took BEC in May of 2015. Due to a new job with crazy work schedule, I took it not studying at all and made a 74. Although I was frustrated at coming so close, it was a valuable experience for me to take the actual test and go through the process. It taught me that I need to focus on the ‘big picture' when studying because they don't ask you enough questions to ask about the details of everything. I would also say that it depends on how long you studied for your other 2 passes. I realize FAR is a different animal from the rest of them, but I started studying for it on 2/7 and am taking it the 29th. I'm also sick of this process and it's hard going through it while working full time. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I am just waiting for the board to approve my application so I can start studying. I have been trying to grasp as much information so can set a plan to study. I work full-time with 2 kids so it will be challenging.

    FAR - August 2016
    AUD - September 2016
    REG - October 2016
    BEC - November 2016

I twice tried cramming for FAR in only a couple of weeks. The first time, I studied about two and a half weeks and went over all the chapters of Becker until Governmental, and skipped Not-for-Profit and F10. I did most of the MCQ for each section and skipped all simulations and got a 70. The second time I tested was 3 months later, and did a very detailed two and a half weeks of Governmental and Not-for-Profit without reviewing everything else and got a 72.

I retake FAR this Monday, and gave myself three weeks to try reviewing for everything except F10 (as I don't recall seeing many questions that would probably come from that section). The problem with this is that I work full-time, and I haven't really had the time to do all MCQ from all sections, and have very briefly gone over the simulations. I'm basically counting on past experience, and working on weak areas from all sections to help me pass this time. I still don't feel very comfortable that I can pass this time, since it's been about 3 months now since my last attempt.

All that being said, I DO NOT recommend you try cramming FAR in two weeks unless you feel very strong and remember a lot from your financial accounting courses. Good luck with the studies!

    FAR - (8/20) 70, (10/28) 72, (2/22) 76
    REG - (6/8) 69...
    BEC - (11/18) 77
    AUD - (4/14) 72...

@maloney021, Hey, I will take a look at Chapter 10! I got a lot of MCQs and also a SIM about a topic on Chapter 10 that Becker only covers with one page! I remembered Becker saying that you will probably not being tested on that and I got lucky with a SIM that did not have a clue on how to solve it. I got a 74 on the Exam and I am pretty sure that if I would put something on that sim I would've put me at least at the passing score. My advise, have a grasp and be familiar with the topics on Chapter 10!
    REG:77
    BEC:73/74/81
    AUD:58/76
FAR:74/re took 02/02 and hope to pass or I will lose REG!!!
