    Hi Everyone,

Has anyone ever heard about any credit extension?

My FAR & REG expired on December 31, 2017. Because of my medical reasons I had no problems to get extensions for my NTS. However, as per my NYS Board customer service, I can apply for any credit extension only after I pass my last BEC exam. In addition to my medical reasons, my brother just passed away in the beginning of November 2017 (a month before I took BEC).

I took time off after my exam in December(to recover from all of the issues that I have been facing since summer). With the New Year, I think I am ready to finish my CPA journey. However, I question whether taking & passing BEC would be sufficient.

    Please share your experience/thoughts.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi-

First of all, I truly am sorry for your loss. That must be incredibly difficult; these exams are hard enough.

I have heard on here of people getting extensions, and I certainly think the death of a close family member would be worthy of consideration by a state board.

I wish you the best, and I truly hope it all works out.

Thank you. I have a hope.

I was told by the customer service to not worry about the expired exams, but I wanted to hear if anyone actually ever got the extension. Sometimes, I worry that getting extension is like changing the score from 74 to 75 (which never happens). All in all I passed both, FAR & REG, before. I will see. First, I must finish with BEC!

Life brings us all things, good and bad. Hope 2018 will help me to finish some of my goals. And I wish the best to all of you.
