    Hey!
I am giving all the 4 sections of the exam in November. I am using Becker as my primary software and I am scoring around 55-60% in the MCQ’s. How do I better my score? I am quite scared to give the exams as it’s my first time. giving the CPA exam 🙁

The only way to better your score is to keep studying-take notes, read the book, keep practicing over and over again….

GOOD LUCK. I would not be able to do it.

Is there a reason you are trying to take all 4 in one month? It seems like a bad idea to me if you're trending @ 55-60%. I would focus on one at a time, but that's just my opinion.

@Chandler I am an International Applicant so it will be difficult and quite expensive for me to travel to Dubai again and again to just give the exams. This trending score is from a first reading from Becker's. I have to still do the progress tests and review my notes and the book. Do you have any suggestions for me? or tips that can help me improve my score?

If you are using Becker (or whatever study guide), go through all the MCQ’s possible. Don’t just get your scores on them and move on. Read through the answers and understand why the questions you picked were wrong. I did this extensively and wrote down the correct answers to each of the problems I got wrong. Do the same thing with the simulations. As Pete says, read it, write it, remember it, then forget it. The other thing, keep studying. It’s no joke and when you are sick of it, study some more. Don’t beat yourself up over poor mock exams or trending negatively in the mcq’s. A lot of us did the same. It’s how you go back and learn from those missed questions that takes you to the next level cone exam day.

Oh and if you’re running out of time and can’t get to every MCQ at the end of each sub chapter in Becker, focus on the progress tests. I would set each progress test to the same amount of questions as the testlet has, and this helps with making sure your are staying on pace. I feel like Becker does a good job at presenting mcqs in the progress tests that are more representative of what’s going to be tested on exam day.

@HDCPA Thank you so much! I will definitely do as you say! 🙂
