I am a Finance/MBA grad with 12 years in industry. I don’t have the accounting hours yet to sit for the CPA in Oklahoma – they require 30 and they don’t count 2000 level courses either, so I need 21 more hours. I am taking those hours thru Univ N. Alabama, which seem to be taking about 3-4 weeks per course. However, their courses match the Wiley exam review so I want to be able to sit for each exam immediately after I finish the review course for that exam:
2 courses towards FAR/ 6 credit hours
2 courses towards Audit
2 courses towards REG
1 towards BECMaine requires only 15 hours to sit including 3 hours of Audit. I’m currently taking one of the FAR reviews. So my plan is to take Audit I next, then as soon as I have that credit on my transcript (UNA is self paced so it should show up immediately) register for the Maine exams and send in the updated transcripts showing my 9 existing hours of ACCT plus the 3 hours of FAR and 3 hours of Audit thru UNA. Then I will take the last FAR review course right before I sit for the FAR exam, then schedule each following exam for when I will complete each section of coursework. Once I have finished/passed the exams and have the 21 additional credit hours, I want to transfer my exam credits to OK (or another state if I find a new job over the summer) and that should qualify me to be licensed (work experience is not an issue).
Will this work – at least for target states of OK, CO, and MN?
