Hi All,

I just wanted a little bit of clarification on the ethics exam because my state board’s website (IL) is not clear about a few things. It looks like the exam can be purchased in either a book format or CD format. Does the CD work on a Mac computer? Does the course just come with the study material (in either book or CD format) followed by a code to take the test? Finally, I heard you get three chances to pass with a 90. If you fail all three, does this in any way jeopardize the four exams I passed?

@DanB I am in the IL jurisdiction as well and asked a friend about this. She recommended this website (https://www.aicpastore.com/AST/Main/CPA2BIZ_Primary/YellowBookSingleAudit/PRDOVR~PC-732302/PC-732302.jsp?cm_vc=HOMEZ2). There's the text version and an online version. I don't know if they offer a CD option anymore. From what I've heard if you fail the test all three times, you're required to take a paper exam and turn in your test in mail. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

In same boat as you guys, lovely IL…It seems like product # 155904 is the best one to purchase since it's searchable (please correct me if I am wrong). I do not believe there is a CD anymore as the course description says that the course is instantly downloadable (they call it “on-demand”). Not sure about what happens in IL after 3 times…these ppl in CA say that they are lenient about letting people pass, I did also read somewhere about the exam being paper after 3 tries:

Read 3rd post from the top, exactly what I needed, seems like all of the questions are in the pdf already. So before starting the exam, you have the questions already. Hence, it's probably very difficult to fail this 3 times.
