Hey guys,

I was all set on foothill college but apparently they don’t allow New York residents to take online classes there.

Does anyone have any other schools where they took accounting credits such as fraud, acc info sys, quickbooks etc. and it was easy professor, class and what not?

Chabot College, Las Positas College & Online College in CA have some online Accounting courses. Not sure about whether they have fraud & Acct Info. Systems courses, but they have QuickBooks, Accounting with Excel & Acct. for small businesses courses. The Accounting with Excel in Ohlone was an easy online course.

I am in the exact situation as you are! Were you able to find courses that are accepted by the NYS Board??

thats crazy that FH doesnt allow NY residents to take classes. Sorry to hear that

I took a lot of classes at Santa Monica College, as well as Foothill. SMC is good, if they allow you to enroll.

University of North Alabama offers easy online credit courses which are just Wiley Videos. But there is 1 state that doesn't accept those credits and I think it is NY.

Check out DeVry University online if you want to just shut off your brain and do the absolute bare-minimum for an A.

The downside is no one will take you seriously if they find out you took accounting classes at DeVry.

I did LSU for 6 credits, only drawback is that it’s a minimum of 8 weeks I believe regardless of how quickly you can get through the course, but depending on the credits you need there’s a ton of accounting courses, both upper and lower level. Also Iceman is correct regarding UNA, UNA CPA Prep credits aren’t accepted as accounting credits but are accepted as general business credits (which is nice as the one class I took didn’t go to complete waste).

Not sure what your state board's restrictions are exactly, but a google search for accredited online schools brought up several lists ranked by tuition, the first one of which was cheaper than Foothill and claimed to accept “all” states.
