Just curious to what the majority might think regarding the amount of study time and difficulty of material.

I would say Audit is easier. Took Audit in November and BEC a week ago.I am just surprise how the questions came up in BEC during my exam, it feels like I didn't review enough.

I think AUD can be trickier because the wording of questions can change the correct answer. But if you are aware that this is going to pop up frequently, then AUD is definitely easier because the material is interrelated.

BEC is a grab bag of miscellaneous stuff that didn't quite fit into the other 3 exams. It's the Island of Misfit Accounting. In addition, all the IT stuff on it is 10+ years out of date.

I don't think AUD is very difficult, but what made it difficult for me is the lack of computations. My brain is so number's based that it's hard to keep my brain awake long enough to understand the concept if there aren't numbers to go along with it. I actually cheered when I'd get SIMS in Roger's program that would ask for correcting JE's just because it gave me a chance to get back to accounting again. I also have had only one class in AUD and don't have much work experience. It's easier once you piece together the big picture, but still challenging if you don't have real-life experience. You could say that about many things though. People think REG is a nightmare, and I thought it was almost as much of a cakewalk as BEC. 🙂

    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

    BEC is easier, hands down.
Per my limited understanding, AUD consistently has the lowest pass rate; this is largely attributable to its dependence on dedicated studying with intuition having very little weight in the matter.

Hi @shmogma. The mistake I made the first time was doing the chapters in order and then taking the test. I only remembered what I read the last 2 weeks and forgot everything from the prior 2 months. I didn't finish the test either.

The 2nd time I bought Ninja and did all the questions twice. Since the system mixes up the topics, you get them all at the same time. That way you don't forget any.

I will say that the 3 months I happened to be unemployed were the 3 months I studied for AUD (the 2nd time). I had nothing else to do all day. I actually asked my employer if I could start a few weeks after I got the job so I could take the test.
