@spartans To be fair, I took FAR the first time over 2 years ago in November 2013. I was just out of college and had just started working and I was never really the type of person who had to study much in college. And to top it off, I found out I was pregnant two months before taking the exam. So with all of that in mind, I barely studied (using Becker). Not nearly as much as I should have. Man, that first score release was a HUGE reality check to the girl who had never failed anything!! But I pushed on and kept trying throughout my pregnancy. I took AUD at 36 weeks pregnant.. Took the entire test in an hour because it was SO HOT at prometric that day and I was dying.. But long story short, my daughter will be 2 in May and in December I got really serious about the exam after being passed on a promotion at work due to not having my CPA.
I bought the FAR 10 Point NINJA combo. I hammered out MCQs like a psycho.. To the tune of close to 4,000 questions worked, I worked every single sim at least once (some multiple times), and during my final 2 weeks of review, I went back through the book and hand wrote notes, focusing on topics I had problems with. I also did like Jeff suggests and rewrote the NINJA notes! HUGE HUGE HUGE pay off!!! This time around I was extremely dedicated. I work 6:30am – 3pm, I would go pick up my daughter from the sitter, get home around 4:30/5, cook, do household chores, take care of her, put her to bed by 6:30, shower then study until 11 or 12 every single night. It was miserable, but God is it worth it!!
Stick with it! If I can do it, ANYONE can do it!!! Good luck!
